  4. A person you know is planning to move to your town or city. What do you think this person would like and dislike about living in your town or city? Why? Use specific reasons and details to develop your essay. A friend of mine is planning to move into my city, Kathmandu. I don't know whether he will like it or not because as the two sides of a coin, my city has both positive and negative factors. Kathmandu is the capital of my country. So, it can be considered as the best place to live. All the basic and additional facilities are available here. As security is one of the primary needs, my city is the most secured one. Whether it is health facility or education, everything is provided with the best quality. Transportation is very much easy. A person without private vehicle can take public transport to reach wherever he likes. We can get big shopping centers, theaters and parks over here. It is the most developed place of the nation. In this city, one can find the great extent of varieties from big factories to small mills, religious places to discos, large building complexes to small huts, 5 star hotels to small pubs, everything accumulated in the single place. So, he can choose the area he likes in this city to live in. As being the center of attraction, the main thing to dislike about this city is that this place is excessively overpopulated. All facilities have to be shared so that it is hard to get all facilities. The number of vehicles has exceeded the road's capacity. From vehicles and industries, air has been greatly polluted. Water and sound pollution have also increased in great extent. Lack of job facility is another great problem over here. One has to struggle a lot in order to survive in this place. To conclude, my city is not such a bad place to live. Here are some bad factors but still so many good ones that he will certainly enjoy living here.
  5. Some people believe that university students should be required to attend classes. Others believe that going to classes should be optional for students. Which point of view do you agree with? Use specific reasons and details to explain your answer. Some people believe that university students should be required to attend classes whereas some believe that going to classes should be optional. In my opinion, it must be compulsory for university students to attend classes. One of the objectives for joining university is to gain knowledge. If going to classes is not so essential, students can never gain knowledge. The main benefit of attending class is to learn from professors' lectures. The lectures are not only the book material but also practical knowledge. A math teacher doesn't only teach formulas. He teaches students how it is derived and how it can be applied. Attending classes will help students gain better skills. If a student pays full attention to all classes, he doesn't need to read books. It can be better than reading from books. Except professors, students can learn from group discussions too. From group assignments, they can share their knowledge by which their level of knowledge increases. A compulsory class is also beneficial in many other aspects. Attending classes can make students learn the value of time. Going to class also teaches students responsibility and discipline. Having to be at a particular place at a particular time prepares them for getting a job. Being at a place on time with an assignment completed prepares them for a better career. On the other hand, if the classes are optional, no one will attend it. The main harm will be the economic wastage for both university and students. Due to the optional classes, students will have no interest in studying. Instead, they will be involved in other activities like going to pubs, bars and clubs. They will get spoiled and can never pass the exam. The youth age is like a pottery mud going to be baked; whatever shape is given to it, that becomes permanent. This is the learning age and if they don't learn in this stage, their future can't be assured. In conclusion, most of the teenagers can't decide how much time should be given to their study and how much for others. Compulsory classes involve them more in studying instead of wasting time and money. In addition, they will know the value of time and money too. Thus, I believe that as students are too young to manage their time responsibly, universities should make it compulsion for students to attend classes.
  6. the essay posted above is rough one. this is fare one A company has announced that it wishes to build a large factory near your community. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this new influence on your community. Do you support or oppose the factory? Explain your position. A new factory in any community brings a great change positively as well as negatively. The same thing will happen in my community too. On one hand it brings facilities and job opportunities whereas on the other hand it brings pollution and disorders too. In my opinion, the benefits of having a factory are outweighed by the risks. That is why I oppose the plan to build a factory near my community. Whenever a factory is built, the area around it is developed. The building site will use the unused land space which is better for my community. There will be better roads, better electricity and water facilities and other infrastructures of development in this place. Even the local transportations would make their routes through here. There will be large malls, theaters, hotels and other facilities raising our quality of life. Moreover, people living there get job opportunities from lower to higher level. This certainly brings prosperity all around. The process of development will speed in such a way that it will be renowned all over and be one of the developed places in my nation. On the other side, a factory brings pollution and disorder in the area. The factory emits smoke which will pollute air in the surroundings. The solid and liquid wastes if not managed properly, will create pollution. If they are disposed in any water body nearby, water will be polluted. The noise produced from the machinaries will create noise. These all sorts of pollution deteoriate health of people living here. All the facilities, on a long run, will be damaged. As there will be large number of people working the large factory, at the opening and closing time, there will be crowd of people which may jam the traffic too. If there will be strike, area around factory will surely be affected. By these factors, my community will certainly harmed. The building of factory in my community can be considered a good idea but it will not be overall beneficial. All the positive aspects will be outwitted by negative ones and it will be difficult to live in my community. There will be better hospitals but there will be more number of patients too. It is better of having less number of patients with small hospital than more with big hospital. The benefits cannot compensate the harms caused. By the higher speed of development, more harms are caused. It is better for my community to develop slowly without any harm. The idea of building a large factory is good but doing it in my community is certainly not good. It would be certainly beneficial if the factory will be built little far from my community by which the benefits can be obtained without causing any harm.
