  1. Thank you, neves. Your idea about analogy between chess as a game and life is great. As I understand now, "game" is about sport. Thanks again. natalia.
  2. Please, help me to understand the meaning of "game" in the topic. I wrote the essay, but I am not sure, that I understand the meaning right. Could anyone check it? What is my score? Thanks a lot. Natalia Topic148: Throughout the mankind history humans play various simple and complex games. These games include those played by children and adult role games. I agree with the statement that playing games can be useful in life. In my essay I will provide evidences for this statement. Childhood is a period of time then playing games begins. From the early childhood children show their interest to toys. Later, somewhere around the age of 3 years, they start to play with each other, imagining different situations from real life. The name of these plays are role games. The main components of the role game are the following. It has scenario, main characters (roles), special environment and those who actually play the roles. For instance, if it is a “hospital”, the main roles are the “doctor” and the “patient”, and something remaining doctor’s office around the players. Scenario is a plot of the game, in which every player’s behavior is defined by the plot. Children adopt game scenarios from real life, observing behavior of the surrounding people in different life situations- in the office, at home, in the store. Thus, childhood is a trial period for actual adult life. During the adulthood, we continue to play these games. In most of situations in our life we have to play roles a supervisor, a customer, a parent. Each social game has its own scenario- it prescribes us, what we should say, in what order, what to answer to another person, and general behavior patterns. Of course, there is some flexibility in the expected behavior, but the main plot is the same. Thus, our life consists of such role games. From our early years to maturity we play these scenarios. So that, playing games teach us about life.
