Hi pals, Could you please tell me about TU Delft, the Netherlands? How is this university? How about their research and funding in electrical engineering? Incomparison to KTH, Sweden, which is better in EE? Thanks a lot!!

Thanks you all, It is over but I feel really free from bad waiting. I know I have many weakness in my profile, I want to work in wireless commu, but never have any relevant exp. in that field. I should find a school with research in RF or microwave engineering, this is really matched to my profile. But I will not apply more because I attend to finish my PhD here in Germany.

Thanks all, Although I feel a bit sad about this, I feel absolutely free from the long time waiting, so I can plan my future further. I will not try MIT anymore. Within a couple weeks I will know another result from Royal Institute of Technology (an unknown university, any comment?) for working in the RF MEMS project. If I am lucky enough, I will go there. Also planning to apply for EPFL.

I have called them today and been informed by the admin there that ''sorry, you will not accepted''....ok...everything is ended with MIT. Thanks for all of you for help and support, I really appreciate that much.

Should it can be assumed now that I am certainly rejected?

Oh....I wonder I am waiting for the reject by snail mail, until now I receive no email from them, it is already a week passed. But last year a friend received a rejection email....:mad:

nomad..even email, you have got none? Any idea about the defference between admit and reject envelope? In my opinion, if I receive a very slim envelope, so it should be a reject. So the thick evelope should be expected....keep finger crossed. :D

By snail mail....wow a cool policy :D It takes time for the snail mail to reach Germany.... hope it reaches before I am 60 years old or befire I die. hahaha :D Thanks for info dude...

Benoit (EECS Admin.) : No, the result is being sent out, it should arrive you in this week or next week. Elektrotechnik33 : Within these 2 weeks. Ms. C. Benoit : Sorry, I cannot say anything. Elektrotechnik33 : ?!?!?!? ok, thanks. Ms. C. Benoit : You're welcome. Elektrotechnik33 : Good bye. Ms. C. Benoit : Bye. Just wonder that the result would be the NASA's top secret and anyone cannot ask for that. And that's all.... Anyway, I never check my email because the pop-up will tell me when an email arrives. :D

heiht_nou, Thanks for your words. I think you are too optimistic, sorry if I am being rude. Of course I want to get in but I know what my situation is. The real world always plays a cruel game with man. I have my hope just 5% for admit and another 95% for negative result, so I shouldn't expect much. All the best friend and let's keep in touch.

Thanks for comment guy. Today I saw some people posted their admits to EECS MIT and so I am preparing for the worst. Normally receiving the result before official deadline is a good news, then it is quite sure a reject. So, I would say no more about my chance, just only want to know the official comfirmation. All the best.

Hi nomad, They told my friend that the result will be given by 'mail', I don't know which 'mail' they meant. But I am sure about my reject since in thegradcafe, the admit is annouced since Feb. 2 but now is Feb. 15. It is quite sure for me......

I don't like the school that cannot check the application status online, via phone and email, just only snail mail. Is this really the best engineering university in the world?

My friend just called them 1 hour ago and she is living in DC.

My friend told me 'mail', I am not sure which 'mail' she said but normally EECS should inform the applicants first by email and after that confirm by snail mail. Not sure about this, sorry.

A friend called MIT today and was informed that the result is being sent out.

Thanks maths_bonn The decision might be finished on last Friday and annouced since then, the official website states that it will be sent to applicants via email by the end of Feb or beginning of March. I sent 2 emails for enquiring my application on Friday and today but she, the one who answered my email, doesn't answer. I don't know why since normally she always replies me very fast, let me say, on the same day of my email. I don't know what happens to my application.....maybe I annoy her too much.
