I thing i made few mistakes in the begining as everybody was coming to room taking his/her place. I prepared a week ...just to see how things work... good luck to all

  4. i had time to finish just 15 ........maybe 15 right.I'm not sure
  5. Thanks Sam, well just qantitive questions needed some calculations, on the probe tests i solved some tasks even without writing them on the papper. I don't remember a lot but there were division, probability all the things! geometry tasks were harder then those which i solved before. I got stuck on some of the first question as i know they give more poins and maybe i should just guess. Barrons is more then enough. I didn't have time to read all the texts and guessed the answers. I'm not sure if somebody have time to read all this 3 texts in depth. The time is too little. So my advice is if u not aim 800 in V just guess reading questions they are too time consuming. Well I don't know whether GRE is same around the world. Must be! I'm a bulgarian. Good luck with your GRE Sam! Just concentrate well and make a stratigic considering your strong and weak sides.
  6. I just took my GRE today. The Q was much harder......in fact it was time consuming.I only managed to finish half of the tasks and had to guess the others. On powerprep i got 790 on Q and on the real i got only 710. verbal was the same what i have expected........640 good luck to all who will take GRE
  7. Bill an Gina both collect coins. The number of coins in Biill's collection is 80 less then twice the number in Gina's collection. Compare the the number of coins in Bill's collection and the number of coins in Gina's collevtion. Two different integers are to be selected from a set of 10 different integers in which half of the integers are even and half odd. How many of the 45 possible selections consist of one even and one odd integer? 1) 5 2)10 3)20 4) 23 5)25
  8. If an integer is randomly selected from all positive 2-digit integers(i.e., the integers 10 , 11, 12,.....,99), find the probability that the integer chosen has at least one "4". can u please post your solution to this task
  9. The following is a recommendation from the business manager of Monarch Books. "Monarch Books should open a cafè in its store to attract more customers and better compete with Regal Books, which recently opened a cafè. Monarch, which has been in business at the same location for more than twenty years, has a large customer following because it is known for its wide selection of books on all subjects. Opening the cafè would clearly attract more customers. The cafè would require relatively little space. Space could be made for the cafè by discontinuing the children's book section, which will likely become less popular given that the last national census indicated a significant decline in the percent of the population who are under age ten." • The Monarch Books’ business manager argument that library will attracts more customers by opening a café may seem logical conclusion on first glance but actually it ignores certain crucial assumptions. • First, the argument assumes that by removing children’s book section library will not suffer. This may not be true because previously in his recommendation manager stated that library is most popular because the variety of books on all sections. This mean that many clients go there because by going to one place they can find whatever they need. It is very possible that many of adult clients visit the library together with their children and while they are using adult sections their children are using children’s section. This mean that by removing children’s book section library can lose some of it’s adult customers as well. • Second, the manager assumes that if Monarck Books open a café the customers of the café definitely will be the customers of the library. This may not be the case, it is very possible that many people will just go for a coffee rather then go to the library. This may lower the reputation of the library as it will make people who are not interested in reading visit the library building. The lowering of reputation could be a reason for many old clients to avoid going there anymore. • The other weak point in manager’s recommendation is the assumption that decreasing the population of under ten will decrease the customers in this age group. It is possible that the interest in reading among children rise so in general clients maybe will not be less then before. • Finally, even opening a café library’s clients may not rise. The manager didn’t state clearly that by opening a café the other library actually got more clients. Opening a café in such building as an library maybe will not attract more clients it just may make the current clients stay longer in the library which will not raise the economic effect. Further, if the café is very small it definitely can’t attract many customers. • Thus, the argument is not completely sound. The evidence doesn’t support the conclusion that by building a cafe the library will rise the number of clients as it misses some important assumption already raised. The argument might have been straighten if the author could have shown that a small café will make more clients then the clients it will lose by removing the children’s section, that the new customers of the café will be the customers of the library as well, and that the decreasing of children population under ten means decreasing the clients under age of ten.
  10. College and university education should be free for all students, fully financed by the government · “Should college and university education should be free for all students?” This is a controvertial issue. Some people think that everybody should have access to free college and university education while other people think that such free education is not economicly motivated and will overburden the tax payers . In my opinion, the education should be free but under some qualifications. · People are social beings. Society structure is like a big organism , in order to work well all parts of it need to function well. This mean that there must be balanced destribution of specialists in different fields. Thus, government need to do planning and pay only for the number of specialists it needs. It hve to decide how many ppl it needs in each field in order “the organism” to work well. Too many specialist in a particular field are not economicly justified. For instance , in my country ,Bulgaria, the education was free for everybody during comunist era. But what happened? Almost everybody went to University and after graduation only few people was able to find a job on the field they were studied for. All the investment that the country made in education was economically absolutely unjustified. Thus, government need to know exactly how many specialists needs and invest in education wisely. · The other qualification is the excellence of students. The education should be free for the best students. The most clever and promising students one day will be the elite of the nation. The elite is those who leads the whole nation ahead. Scientist , economists, artists they contribute most to all the population . Thus, education for such outstanding people should be free. It often happens that the best students are not coming from rich families so they are not able to pay for their education , that’s why they need to be supported by the government and be able to develop their talent. The education of such people is good investment for the country. They are national treasure. · The other reason for which I think that education should be free , but not for everybody is because this will lead to competition among students. Competition will encourage students to study more and better themselves. This will rise the level of the education, which of course is good for all the nation. For instance , in my University there were only few places free of payment. All the students before applying went to many courses to better themselves and overall level of the students rised. Further, in order to be able to retain this free education during the years students needed to have minimum grades lavel. Thus , they had to keep studing and performing well during all the education. This is good example of how free education under some conditions can be a stimulus for students. · In conclusion , education is important factor of everybody’s life but it is very important for society as well. Thus, it needs to be very well planed. It is very important to be decided in what conditions it have to be free in order to stimulate the development of students and hence of humanity.
