  1. Thanks all. Well, I started to get the picture now. I was trying to limit my MBA choices, and I found out about the Thunderbird International MBA program. I really do like it especially that international business and International management are my major target concentration. Also, I like the ESADE Business School in Spain, So Any ideas about my chances in those two schools. Thanks for your help
  2. Oh, thanks for the tip. so I simply lost my chance for application this year or is there any top school that are still in R2? I have to do my homework but the problem is that I am in the middle of applying to canadian schools and it really takes time
  3. Man, thanks for the tips. U read my mind. I was thinking about R3. So I have to stope that. I am an Int.student. The one school I find to have a start in Jan. is Columbia University, and man that is a dream. well, do you think I should give it a shoot, and apply to Columbia. GMAT 80% is 660-760 with an avg. of 710 (Pitty my 660) So do u advice me to apply to Jan. adm. Is there anything I am missing about Jan admission
  4. sb001, and kindergartenki. thanks for the posts, I was starting to think that nobody care to answer my posts. sb001 : I was thinking of York Canada – ranked by FT as the 22 on the world (I have been to the USA, and I have this universal view, SO I want to try someplace else.) kindergartenki.: Thanks Man, You really lifted my spirit. I was starting to feel really bad about my GMAT score (I was shooting for 700)
  5. HEC - Canada York - Canada Simon Fraser - Canada These are my first choice because I am looking for the financial aid What do u think?
  6. Three questions: First, my main targets are schools with GMAT averages of 610,620, 660, and I am looking for the finical aid so should I write a letter explaining or hinting my need for financial aid , and Do U think I will get a finical aid? Second: what do u think of this application: An Egyptian Engineer GMAT: 660 (Q 47, V 35) (and I know that I should have gotten 700 easily but very bad exam day experience, that’s life) Master of Science (Middle class USA university ) GPA : 3.94/4 (36 credit houts) Postgraduate Diploma GPA 3.75/4 (24 credit houts) from Egypt Undergraduate GPA:2.4 (here is my weakness) from Egypt Work Experience : 6 years –2 years Engineer --- Egypt 2 years Business analyst --- Egypt 1 year networking ---- USA 1 year – my own business ---- USA Internships: Germany - France Personal experience: quite OK. Considering a lot of hard times I have been through and I can explain getting over barriers. 3rd: Which GPA they will consdier my good GPA of 3.94 or I am at disadvantage at 2.4/4 undergrade Please Advice, the application deadline is Feb is the first, and I am almost doe with the applications.
  7. gschmilinsky, I know and I have seen this thread, also, if u have noticed in my pots, 3rd Q was hard combination ??
  8. Hello all, I don't know what to think of my 660 (Q 47, V 35), specially with very bad exam day experience as I had cold and I had a problem with the administration because of the scratch paper (I use a lot of scratch paper, it is a bad habit I wasn't able to get over , so I have asked the exam administrator for extra scratch appear before the exam but she insisted that she couldn't do it and I wasted at least 4 or 5 mines in the Q section going out and back to get scratch papers, and like 2 or 3 mins on the Verbal section) The thing is I am not sure but observing people debriefing and scores here, I think that the combination of Q 47, and V35 should be more like 680, or 690 so how come I ended up with this 660. I knew that my score was going to be 700 +/- 20 and actually 680 was acceptable for me, now I am stuck, can not decide whether to retake the exam or not, specially that I think that naturally my limit is 720 as I know I can score a 50 in the math but I know that I can not score max of 38 in the verbal (I am not an English specking country native, although I have lived in the states for 2 years) Well, any ways here is my thoughts of the exam: AWA: nothing much to say here. Was OK, all I can say that I always had good ideas to write about but with bad spellings so, naturally, all I did was to reread my essays and correct the spelling if I can, and If I am in doubt I can always find another good word or structure to use without disturbing the meaning. Q: The strange thing here is that Q number 3, and I mean number 3 was a kind of hard combinations questions, one of those questions about selection with specific criteria and with a trick, the type of questions that people always wonder about here in these forums. Anyways I was able to solve it, and I think correctly as the following questions was even a harder question (DS), I concentrated so much on those first 10 questions but the difficulty level was getting higher so early. Around question 15 things were getting within the difficulty level of GmatPrep, and I think I missed a couple of questions from 18, 19, 20, or 21 because suddenly the questions seemed easier from 22 tell like 30. (I stupidly even missed a question of a type that people consider hard but I always found very easy and was always able to solve in less than a min). I ended up with 47, don't know really what to think about this as I think my math background and skills should have entitled me for a 50 (I got 49, and 48 in GmatPrep Q, and 50 in PP Q ). I don't know I feel like betrayed here, the questions progress was rather mysterious. V: I scored a 35, and all I can say that I was expecting a 35 +/- 2. in my preparations I knew I was very good in CR (I don't know why but I can always easily find the correct answers), then reading comprehension. (well, I will get most of those right (99% I mran), with an average of 3 or 3.5 mins depending on the length of the Passage), then my SC which is my enemy, I am not really good here although I improved dramatically to an 75 ~ 80 % (considering that I started with 20 ~ 25% ), all this improvement is actually attributed to Manhattan GMAT. So, what do you all think? Should I retake it? Considering the following: 1- I am applying to MBAs , and MSc (reserach) which have an average GMAT scores of 600,610 and 640. but I am looking for Financial aid 2- I had very bad cold in the week before the exam and it continued with me during the exam. 3- I had a bad experience with the administration of the exam as the I had to go out of the room 3 times (wasting like a min or two) during the Q to get more scratch paper (I asked the women before the start of the exam to provide extra paper because I tend to use a lot, but she said that the regulations is to give me 8 paper stack ata time and she can not do anything about it) Hope to hear a word of advice
  9. Thanks Chix47 for ur reply
  10. please I need some advice as I am now two weeks away from the D-Day, and I have finished the OG: 1- Is the GmatPrep different from the PowerPrep, I was under the impression that both contains almost the same material but different in the look?, I took PP1, and was keeping PP2 to the lat week as everybody says it is a good indicator. 2- What is the GMAT sets? What are their source?and are they more useful than GMAT paper tests? 3- Do u consider ETSpaper tests the best preparation tests? I have couple of Kap with Mid 500s scores. While I did ETS paper exams and I hit 700s
  11. Guys I am in the same show as u r, I have a couple of questions thought: 1- Is the GmatPrep different from the PowerPrep, I was under the impression that both contains almost the same material but different in the look? 2- What is the GMAT sets? What are their source
  12. B is tha answer (1) more than 5 are women ---> if women are 6 P(2W) = 6/10*5/9 = 30/90 = 1/3 ( ----> if Women are 7 P(2w) =7/10*6/9 = 42/90 ---- if women are 8 P(2w) =8/10*7/9 = 56/90 > 1/2 A is not suff (2) P(2m) M/10 * (M-1)/9 M^2-M Is m = 3 is (P2w)=7/10*6/9 = 42/9 Is B is suff
  13. answer is D divided by 6 --> 6x+2/6 = ( (2*3x) + 2 )/3 ----> reminder = 2 divided by 15--> 15x+2/15= ( (5*3x) + 2 )/3 --> reminder =2
  14. I think A B- Insuf, (1/10)^(n-1) n-1 n So if n=1 it holds but for all-ve values it will not hold then answer is A
  15. A simpler answer: M (Slope of line 0A) = - 1/M (Slope of line 0B) (two perpendicular lines) So for line 0A :- 1/ Seq rot 3 = - 1/m (slope of OB) So m for OB = seq rot 3 / 1 Is X = 1 Rmemebr Slope = Differance in Y / Differance in X Hope this is easier
