  1. "them" is ambiguous in choices A, B and E. D -awkward with have been usage C is the best option. Parallelism holds good here.. See like this.. By offering .....the new company has " not only X but also Y" to... Hope this helps..
  2. Even if you consider x=y=0.01 answer would be C only. Instead of this why dont you take some simple values like x=y=2 and calculate. you can solve it very easily.
  3. For these sort of questions, its always better to plug in numbers and solve. Take some numbers which has root. For example take x=y=2. You will take hardly a min to solve.
  4. Gave my GMAT long time back. Just giving a try IMO:A Following 2:3 Split mode. Options A,D use thereby Options B, C, E use which ---Usage of which is wrong here. Left with options A and D D- Unnecessary usage of passive voice.. So A:)
  5. The crux of ths qn just lies in finding the side of the equilateral triangle. You can just apply this simple formula... If an equilateral triangle is inscribed in a circle then side of the equilateral triangle, a is given by a= r.sqrt(3) where r is the radius of the circle and a is the side of an equilateral triangle. In the given problem we know r. Hence a= 4.sqrt(3) Now area of the circle excluding the triangle = area of the circle - area of the triangle. = (pi).(4^2)- (a^2).sqrt(3)/4 = 16(pi)-12.sqrt(3) HTH
  6. Hi Sudhanshu, As I already mentioned ISB will not just give importance to one aspect. As MBA at ISB is a one year program (without compromising in the sylabus that 2 year degree offers) we have to undergo a rigorous schedule. ISB just want to make sure that whether you can go thru that kind of schedule with decent grades or not. It all depends on you how you can convince the interview panel that why you didn't do well in your academics. I am sure you have valid reasons for that. Try to highlight your extra curricular activities and your work performance in your essays. First hurdle is getting shortlisted for the interview. So make sure you come up with good essays. Once you get shortlisted convincing the panel is all in your hands. I am sure there will be minimum amount of grilling about your academics in the interview. Wish you all the best:tup:
  7. Yup. Application deadline for cycle-1 is October-3 and cycle-2 is December-1 http://www.isb.edu/pgp/visit/admissions_important_schedule.asp The benefit in applying in round-1 is there will be less competition compared to round-2. But again, that doesn't mean that Adcom will compromise on the quality of intake. If they are not satisfied with the apps they may reduce the intake percentage in round-1. I would suggest you to give fair amount of time to apps. Ideal time for preparing the apps is 20-25 days. I am not sure when is ur GMAT D-Day. But just make sure you have enough time after GMAT for your apps. If not much time left, better postpone to round-2. Wish you all the best. Hope this helps,
  8. . As I stayed in hyderabad for around 3 years I am sort of familiar with this place. So Not much places left to visit. The avg work Ex is 5 years and we are supposed to chose the specialization after term 4.
  9. Why dont you brush up your skills in Quants and then give another try. In my opinion improving skills in Quant is easier. Even in your case, you maintained the same Quant score. If you can bring up that to 48-49 i guess you can get good score. Ofcourse at the same time dont neglect verbal. I Wish you all the best
  10. Congratulations Dude. So which universities you are looking for? I dont think money should be a problem. First concentrate on your apps and other related stuff. Once you can secure seat in good B-school (or rather in one of the top 10 B-schools) then getting a bank loan is easier. I wish you all the best :-)
  11. Thanks madinhell24. Some scholarships are offered by companies like Novartis, Citygroup, HSBC, ISB Merit Scholarship etc to ISB students based on the merit.
  12. Thanks dude. This scholarship is sponsored by Novartis. They offer 1200000 INR worth scholarships every year to ISB students. They just select people on their own measurements. Mostly on your past profile, achievements etc.
  13. Hmm Am doing gud. Did I tell you that I recently received scholarship worth 400000 INR. How are you doing?
  14. Thanks tamGmat. How are you doing? Wassup at your end? ISB is great. We just finished 3 terms. Still five more terms to go. Thanks Dileepsh. :)
  15. I just wanna share one good news with you guys. I got scholarship worth 400000/- recently. I am so happy that my liability got reduced by that amount. Good day guys!
  16. Nothing like that. In fact competetion will be less in first round. ISB gives equal weightages to both rounds.
  17. Yup..Our 3rd term ends in another week. Exams are very common here. For every 15 days we have to give exams( Either mid term or end term). Coming to your question.....In second round there will be lot of competetion. We find more applications coming in the second round. In that perspective, people say that second round reduces the chance of being admitted. However, if you are not ready with your GMAT Prep or if you are not ready with application essays and other related things it is better to apply in second round only. There is no point in applying in the first round without proper preparation right? Female percentage-20% Did u give your GMAT? All the best dude!
  18. Congratulations dude! So Are u coming to ISB? www.itzzz-my-life.blogspot.com
  19. Hey Guys! C'Mon..I just started this post to help people, who are aspiring to pursue an MBA from ISB. Let us not make this post for comparing B-schools. Hope you guys take this in a positive sense. Have a nice time dudes! -Preity www.itzzz-my-life.blogspot.com
  20. Hi Maverick! Thanks. How about you maverick. Where are u applying?
  21. Thanks for the compliments. Coming to your profile, I guess 20 months of work-Ex is less experience. If anyone with less experience need to get an admit, he/she should convince the management a lot that he/she is meschured enuff and had seen the industry really well and he/she is smart enough to apply the concepts to their work related stuff. Other thing is you are from IT which is very common. ISB do take people with less work-ex but they are really really smart and all i noticed is they are from other than IT. But yes, it all depends.
  22. Yup. Am from Hyderabad. lucy liu???? I didn't get you:rolleyes: -Preity www.itzzz-my-life.blogspot.com Hmmm. Jobs in IT are like Business Analyst, Program manager, Accounts Manager, Business Development roles etc. Also Some jobs in IT consulting. Duties associated!!!!Am not very sure about that. Cozz sometimes in management you get one designation...but you do something else. You will be working at the client side for a business development role. It is almost like getting a new business for your firm/company. If you have any specific queries about ISB admission process..shoot. Any information regarding placements and jobs..i can't provide you exact information.
  23. Hi CTG! Seeing ur post after a long break. Where were you all these daz? Time is running very fast yaar. Still i feel like i gave my GMAT just yesterday. So wassup at ur end? -Preity www.itzzz-my-life.blogspot.com
  24. Hello Guys! Wassup? How are you guys doing? Our first term got over. So 7 more to go. -Preity www.itzzz-my-life.blogspot.com
  25. Job!!!This is subjective. It all depends on you. It all depends on how well you can sell yourself and how well you can negotiate with the companies, and the experience u hold etc etc stuff. I wanted to take up business development roles. Lets see:-) I am very sorry to say that ISB stopped considering GRE scores for admission from this year. So if you are looking for ISB, you need to give GMAT. All the best :-)
