I know they will change the test from 1, Oct. And someone said they will stop the test from 28, Stp to 30, Sep. So 28, Sep and 30, Sep will not available for the test. Is that true? Could somebody tell me? Thanks!

I got a score of 20, 12-28, 24. The former guys said a lot about the test. I guess I don't have some thing new. But in the centre I went, they allow you take break only once. And five minutes is too short, because you should sign your name and write down the time when you leave and enter the test room. I was so nervous that I missed the first three short conversations. So, I hope others can make youself calm before you beginning the test. I will take the test again. But I guess I can't improve my listening in short time. So I want to go for GRE first. Anyway, thank you all, especially Erin.

How to write the topics of " what's the most important animal (or plant) in your country? " And how to give them some "deep though" ? Thank you so much. It's a shame that I postpone the test until now. I hope I can take it this Saturday or next Monday. I need a score of 250, or at least 237. But I know there is no way I can make it this time. Anyway, I will come back after I take the test, whatever I can get.

Hi, Erin Maybe I didn't express myself correctly. :o Actually, I thought about trying to write down what they said in the test. And I give it up by following your advice. I think maybe it's the relaxation and the luck that help me a lot. I don't know when to take the test. I lost the confidence, now. It's a pity that they cancel the Analytical Reasoning Section. I thought I could get high score at that section.

Hello again, Erin I took the test1 again just now. I got a score of 30,10-28,29, the total comes to 230-290. These days I didn't do any practice, just reciting some words, watching TV and coming to this site. It's the highest score I've got ever. But I don't think I can get such a score in real test. Actually, I just ask for a score about 250. I hope I can take the TOEFL test ASAP so that I can study for the GRE test. But my English base is so weak. :( I never took serious in studying English when I was in the university. And one more important thing, I'm not that kind of people who have good "test technology". I always get the lower score than I should get. :( Thank you for your comfort, Erin. The Internet really helps. But I prefer enjoying the real life. After all, the nets is just a fictitious world. Sometimes we can find some informations, or make some friends there. but it can't instead real life, right?:)

I think "between" is wrong. It should be "among".

Question: Adult humans generally need "about" seven "or" eight hours "of" sleep while infants need "as twice as" much. It's said "as twice as" is wrong, should be "twice as". Could you tell why? And I want to know if we should say "as much as twice". Thanks a lot! :)

I don't think so. When I take the powerPrep tests, I awlays see the same questions. Especially the listening part. 80% of those questions are repeated. Maybe sometimes I can't catch the conversation at the first time, but after several times repeat it's much easier. And about the reading part, 50% are repeated. Maybe I can't remember that questions, but I did remember the summaries of those articles. It will reduces my time spending in the reading, leave me plenty of time to think over the answeres. As my experience, I ever got a score of 27,11-28,25(210-267) in test1. I was so happy that I wanted to take the real test. When 10 days before the real test, I took the test2, only got 170-230, so I canceled the real test. Now I dare not do the test2 second time. I would like to save it for the last self-test.

Firstly, I think these "the" are not for "same" ,but for the nouns followed. Secondly, we can use "same" without "the" in some case. e.g. -Happy new year! -Same to you! "Books of the same size" emphasizes the books. And those books happen to be the same size. "The same size of the books" emphasizes the size. Hope I'm right and hope it helps. :)

It's unfair. But we can do nothing but take it. Actually, I think GRE is not fair to foreign students, too. Especially the verbal part. But we have no choice.

Exactly. I think it did take me a little time to react to. If I can relax myself, I can understood more than a half when I watching TV. Then how could I improve listening? Listening to each word or keeping practising the whole speech? Thanks a lot!

I think you will get a score of 167 to 177 if you can get 4 or 5 in essay.

If you can do well in essay, you can do well in structure, too.

By the way, I got a score of 13/9-27/18 two months ago. I did well in reading with paper materials, always did more than 90% right. But when doing exercises in the computer, I found that I should waste lots time in finding where the related part was. My lisitening problem is: When listening the long lecture, sometime I can understand almost every word in a sentence, but can't understand the whole sentence. Or sometime I can understand the sentences, but can't remember them. Maybe I was too lazy, only studied 2-3hours per day, 3-4 days per week. When I was studying, i always feel sleepy. I decide to postpone the test to 25th, May. How can I improve my score? Long way to go. Looking forward your help. Best wishes!
