  1. I am applying to the San Jose State University & CWRU and my dept has stated that I dont need to report my scores to them and instead I should only report the scores to the Graduate Admission Office. So, I called up ETS no.(for reporting TOEFL scores) to report my toefl score to this university. They took some personal details like Date of Birth, Date of Test, Credit card no. and its expiry date, and the institution code. However, they also asked to enter the deptt code and ,unlike GRE, they didnt give an option to avoid sending the score to the deptt. And, so I had to disconnect in the middle of the call. Now, my question is : Have I been charged? even if I disconnected before entering the deptt code. And, secondly what deptt code should I enter, if I do not want to report my TOEFL scores to the deptt. ( for GRE it is 0000). I would appreciate it, if I can get a quick reply to my query. Thanks. Can nobody help me with this one? I have already made a search, but still didnt find any relevant answers.
  2. Hello All, I am applying to the EECS department for Fall 2006 session at CWRU. However,I would like to bring to your attention that there are two different mailing address stated in your website for mailing the application package. One is specified in the Graduate application instruction webpage as: Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Graduate Admissions - Olin 305 Case Western Reserve University 10900 Euclid Avenue Cleveland, OH 44106-7071 U.S.A. However, another address is given in the application checklist pdf file, for sending the package as: Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science EECS Student Affairs Office, Olin Building, Room 305 Case Western Reserve University 10900 Euclid Avenue Cleveland, OH 44106-7071 U. S. A. I would appreciate if you can clear this doubt of mine and specify which address should i use to send the application package. Thanks
  3. Alright. As far as the GPA is concerned, I would like to know whether final sem is considered or the percentage on your degree or the aggregate of your 4 years in BE. And, what if I dont know the exact percentage of the top student. I got 70 percent in the final year and the highest percentage was around 84. My degree percentage is 63. I didnt participate in any extra cirriculars except that i represented my school in InterSchool Cricket Tournament and was as NCC cadet corp. I hope this is sufficient to get a response from all fellow TMians. Thanks.
  4. Come on , Guys. I'd really like to have your opinions.
  5. Hello All, I have a GRE score of 1350 and Toefl score of 230-283 and am expecting good score in the essays. I want to do my MS in computer Science. I would really appreciate if you could rate the following universites and give your valuable feedback. Also, if possible, list some good universities that you think would accept my scores. This would help me decide to select the universities that are right for me. Thanks. 1. University of Alabama - Tuscaloosa 2. University of Bridgeport 3. Texas A&M University - Kingsville 4. University of Central Florida 5. Wright State University 6. University of Missouri - Rolla
  6. Hi All, I gave my GRE a couple of days ago. Got a score of 1350 ( Verbal - 630, Maths - 720). I think, I did exceedingly well in the AWA. Could any one tell me when will I get my AWA scores. As far as the test is concerned, I think that both the sections were a little tougher than what I practised at home, especially the maths section where I got a couple of questions that consumed a lot of time. The only questions that I can remember at the moment, are from the verbal section like Staid, and some others that I did not come across in Barrons and Kaplan. The analogies and RCs were particularly difficult. Well, I hope that this score would help me get in a good university.

    Universities Selection

Hi everyone, I have my GRE on this month and am expectin a GRE score of around 1350 and would like to do MS in CS from a top 50 college in US. But, I am looking for a university which has a reasonable tuition fee (around 7000 dollars per sem) . I have come across some universities which have exorbitant tuition fees and as I am taking an education loan it would not be a viable option. I am doing my research in selecting Univ and I would really appreciate it if some of you can suggest appropriate univ and if possible the tuition fees. Thank you very much.

    What after MS?

No, I will be giving GRE this month. Have been getting scores of around 1400 in the mocks. But, I was just wondering whether it would be worth doing MS from an average univ, considering the fact that I dont have any work experience and extra cirriculars to show in my SOP. And, more importantly would I be able to repay my studying loan quickly after MS.

    What after MS?

However, I think most of the students from Asia stay and work there, after their post graduation. Very few students return home. Perhaps, the opportunities are more and you get better remuneration ( value for service) in the US. Also, the standard of living is comparatively higher. Just an assumption.

    What after MS?

Hello everyone, I wanted to know what are the prospects after completing your MS in the US. Well, I know this depends on various factors like your college, etc. But, Do we have to return in case , we dont get any job. Especially, after investing so much money. Any response will be appreciated. Thanks.
  11. Congrats and best wishes for the admission process.
