  1. One of my friends did the same thing two years ago.Julius should be a model to people holding several admits and waiting for other schools that they will not accept admission offers for sure. Julius, congratulations for your great admission to Yale and for your honorable manner.Good luck.
  2. You deserve all the applauds [clap]
  3. Dear Mathman, I am a Math major like you and will get a PhD in Econ.I saw that you didn't get funding from UVA.I got admitted to UVA with fellowship and with 99% probability I will decline the offer of UVA in a few days.I believe that there may be some people who will decline the offer of UVA. So if it means anything to you now, I want to say that don't lose your hope. You may hear from UVA for funding. You may try to write and ask for your situation. Good luck and I hope u get funding from UVA and u go to Charlotte. Best,
  4. UVA is always said to be mean.I got really surprised when I got this offer. Who knows Ivo, we may meet in Charlotte!
  5. Hi ivo, mine is exactly the same with yours.3 years TW+16.000+Health insurance
  6. I got an offer of aid on 02/17 one week after I got admission mail. As far as I know, applicants who haven't received aid might be awarded aid if some applicants with aid decline the offer of UVA.So stay calm you may hear about aid in future.
  7. Congratulations Mathman. I have been accepted to UVA too.I got my admission on 02/10 nearly two weeks ago.We may be together next year,ha? What about fin.aid?Did you get aid from UVA?
  8. Thanks for your invaluable comments and advices reactor. I'll take them into consideration. It is a very hard decision for me to take a Master's degree before PhD since financial aid is a big problem.Anyway, thanks again.
  9. Thanks for your advice Klimano but I really wonder your guess about my nationality and school and how you made such a guess.I really wonder and am waiting your reply.
  10. Hi to everyone, I am not new to testmagic but I have been just watcher up to now.But I have to make a decision and I can not handle it by myself. I am a fourth year Math student and want to study Economics in Master's or maybe in PhD level. However, I haven' t taken many Econ courses since I decided to study Econ not until last year.I have taken Principles of Economics course(prerequisite for Intermediate Micro and Macro) and get an AA,this semester I am taking Intermediate Micro(probably get BA or AA) and will take Intermediate Macro and maybe one or two more Econ courses next semester. Although I love studying Econ, I can not decide whether studying Econ in doctorate level since my Econ background is not very strong. Therefore, I am planning to get first Master's degree and see whether I can be successful and whether I love more Econ and then decide whether to go on PhD or not. But my Econ professor and many universities I took the opinion told me to apply PhD directly if I might consider studying Econ in PhD level since I am a Math major and Maths is the crucial thing in Econ PhD. I am doubtful about getting to a top PhD program without very strong Econ background. So, I want you to give me advice about choosing a way and universities that I may apply if I choose to take a Master's degree first or directly PhD degree (considering financial aid is indispensable to me).My profile is: GPA: 3.45 / 4.0 (~3.5/4.0 at graduation) (in ~%5-6) TOEFL:263 GRE: Q.800 V.570 Your advices are very important to me and pls give me recomm.s since I do not very long time to decide ! Thanks to everyone that will be interested in helping me in my decision process.
