ETS seems to be having big problems getting the test delivered. The school I work for has been trying to get set up to give the iBT for nearly six months, but due to the disorganziation at ETS we have been unable to.
Recently we were placed on the ETS website as a school students could sign up for to take the test in Jan, Feb and Mar 2006. BUT, ETS had not approved us yet, and we were thinking of canceling our application. Thus students signed up to take the test at our school, even though there was no way we could give the test. WE DISCOVERED THIS ERROR, not ETS. And now ETS is contacting all these students (we hope!!!!) to tell them our center is not available and they have to reschedule somewhere else. But, a quick check of ETS website will show that all January test locations are full.... so I do not know what these poor students will do.
It seems to me that similar problems are occuring all over the US. ETS does not have enough centers to meet demand. And, it now seems, may have even less centers that it thinks.
You should inform the schools you plan to attend of the problem and ask if their is an alternative, such as IELTS that you can take.
Good luck, and sorry!
