I actually took the test in march, but I found this site just now. Anyway, on the math section I was scared of running out of time so I actually moved on past a few questions without being reasonably sure that I had the right answer. On the verbal I lost the sense of how well I was doing very early on, so I just tried to just do my best and answered every question as if it was the first one on the test.
Although I'm happy with my score, I still think I can do better. Any suggestions on any relevant material to beef up my math? I don't think anything besides the [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] would be useful on the verbal because ETS has a very specific way of thinking about things. However math is math, so there must be other resources out there that could be helpful in getting the 51.
A question for the old timers on this board: has anyone here actually gotten an 800? It seems to be so extraordinarily rare, that not too many people seem to even try to lie about it cause they're prob. afraid of sounding ridiculous. Having gone to MIT for undergrad, I have access to the Sloan resume database and a lot of people with high gmats list their scores... well, there was only ONE 800 out of both sloan classes!! Is it that rare?
As for how I prepared for this sitting: I got most of my info on the test from the test prep guide reviews on amazon, and combined with my test know-how from high school I concluded that the [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] was the only resource to use. (which is something most people on this board seem to agree with) I went through about 1000 of the 1400 questions, but ran out of time near the end.
