  1. That reminds me. How many of us have not bothered to plan beyond grad econ this fall? In other words, for how many of us is graduate school the only option? I personally could not stand the thought of doing anything else, so I have no contingency plans.
  2. Hello. Take the analysis courses. Graduate school will be way harder in any case, so look at these classes as (comparitively easy) preparation for truly abstract and complex material. Plus, if you haven't yet encountered pure math, it is worth it to take those classes just to be awed. I personally was blown away by all the crazy shit mathematicians have done over the centuries. Stirling's approximation, for example, is marvelous and bonkers, if not absolutely necessary for a successful grad school experience. Finally, if you take those classes, then you might just start to think of yourself as some kind of badass, which I think most of us who have gone through it would agree is fun and gratifying, if a little silly. Do it.
