Hello, I am a Turkish student who will attend CEMFI next year... CEMFI is well suited with my research interests (Financial Economics, Financial Econometrics...) However, I do not know how CEMFI is good at Micro Theory and Game Theory. I know that Sabanci is the best university for Micro in Turkey. I do not know about Bologna however if you aim high, with this perfect profile, Sabanci will put you to a top program. I think you should decise between Sabanci and CEMFI. Good Luck

If you want to study micro, the best place in Istanbul is Sabanci University If you want to study macro, the best place in Istanbul is Koc University Bilkent University is comparable with Sabanci and Koc... Thats my two cents...

I heard from an inside info Carlos III Econ Master program is similar two the first year of U.S Econ Phd. Programs... Hence, you will think this program like a Phd not a Masters degree..

Do you know what you want?? In one topic you are saying that you aim a top-50 econ program and this topic you say that you are willing to pursue your career with an Accounting Phd. Thats really confusing...

Guys, I also wonder that if there is a chance to take some sourses at Carlos III as an external student...

I hope that works and got an acception from CEMFI ... In my opinon you will head towards Tinberlgen even if you get accepted, is it right? His profile is average because he studied in Turkey and he was saying that the best engineering department of Turkey. I know that it is very diffucult to get good grades in Turket and I know someone who is the best of his engineering department with 3.20.

Hello Umut, I think you have an average profile and you should make more strong by getting a MA degree and getting great marks there. I know that there are lots of Turkish Master programs both in Istanbul and Ankara such as KOC University, Sabanci University and Bilkent. Their programs are solid however it is not such easy to get into one of them.

I think people should contact to the department if they will not accept Duke's offer. Then, they will give the money people in your position

I heard that EUI has a solid program and their placements are very good. I wish I had applied there, too.

I agree with decisiontime. Although I got accepted to non-top-50 schools, I declined the offers from NCSU, Houston and WSU in order to give the chances people who is in the waitlist. We should behave ethicly. Remember, the one who waits in the waitlist would be YOU ! Sincerely, P.S : I am not on a waitlist....

Hi ... I got admitted to CEMFI with the same funding opprtunities with you. I got several critical informations about CEMFI from bscout , past CEMFI graduates, faculty members from good universities. As a result of these I declined Phd offers with funding from Washinton State University, North Carolina State University and University of Houston and will probably decline Pompeu Fabra Msc Finance program. CEMFI is a very good step if you aim top phd programs and also their professional placements are awesome in Madrid. However, they expect that proffesional placements will be better in Europe because they started to admit international students. I want to study Financial Econometrics, Econometrics and Finance Theory and I think that CEMFI is an awesome place for my interests. Also it is a small program which gives the chance to be close to faculty members. Also I appreciate any comments about CEMFI and CEMFI vs UPF Msc Finance. Congrats, this is a good score... In my view, if you are an international student Verbal doesn't count too much in the admission process if you have a good TOEFL and good AWA score at GRE...

No, man . You completely misunderstood me... I didn't say anything about your honesty, I believe your honesty and I heard from my friends that they were rejected from Carlos III. I think that their anouncements are in an interesting time (easter holiday) I don't like writing on the net because sometimes there may be misunderstandings like that...
