Thanks to Testmagic!!! You guys ROCK!
I know, 680 is not so good if you want to go to the FUQUA or SLOAN but good enough for me. Please read on if you have less than one month at hand to prepare( your current status is :wallbash: ) and you really need GMAT with 650+ score.
First thing first, get Princeton Review (or PR as people call it, you can get in almost any public library if in USA) and Official Guide (the OG, library in USA). These two guides are more than enough along with testmagic buddies for your test. Believe me!
PR is really good in giving you the directions that you really really need in solving GMAT problems (both Verbal and Quantitative). It should not take more than 3 days for you if you put atleast 4 hours each day( like me..I am working in high demand S/W company).
Then you start solving OG each section continiously and as most of them have 250 questions each and you have five different sections ( Verbal- Reading Comprehension, Critical Reasoning, Sentence Correction; Quant- Problem Solving, Data Sufficiency) you will need to balance between the TV serials and your preparation :p . I watch American Idol, Deal No deal and apprentice religiously. No reason why I shouldnt. You can do too :)).. But seriously make a habit of solving them atleast 10 from each section (50 in total) a day. If you have more time well and good. Dont give those test exams available because they are sure to get your moral down.
The best will be to take atleast 1 day off from your office before the day of the exam. Since you will need that to review all you did. If you ask me, I would give Kaplan Test (CAT 1) 5 day before I appear the exam. You are almost sure to get around 600 or less or more which will motivate you to study harder those few days. Then I would give both of the GMAT Preps next consecutive days to make sure I have got GMAT under my belt.
I have noticed that Data Suff questions are really tricky sometimes and I would pay extra attention. The same goes for Reading Comprehension.
Now you might wonder why I got just 33 in verbal, thats because I didnt manage my time properly. I wasted too much time in the Comprehensions. No matter how much you prepare sometimes there are unavoidable stuff in your life. This is one of them in my case. So be careful in managing time. I found this helpful :D
10 Questions - 55 Mins Left in clock
20 Questions - 35 Mins
30 Questions - 15 Mins
37Q/41V Qs - You are dead
I hope this was helpful. I studied around 20 days for GMAT and I am non-native english speaker. So if I can do it you can sure do it just fine. Gumbatte Kudasai!!!!
Cheers,
D
