  1. :) Thanks a lot for your replies!!Really appreciate it. Re: Golden Rule: yes I was referring to your earlier response in another thread...thanks for the clarification here. :)
  2. I've been reading some of the posts here and it seems that people think getting a Stats MA is not helpful in terms of preparing for an Econ PhD? Some suggest that a focus on econometrics in gradschool is sufficient...any thoughts? Would really appreciate it! I'm considering Stats MA/PhD programs as an intermediate step on my path to an econ phd... granted that I'm not particularly interested in Stats at all (I'd rather do topology over stats on any day), I've heard that it helps with the adcoms & benefits future research. I've been out of school for a while so a Stats program would be a good transition back to school as well...
  3. Thanks a lot Tatonnement!! These are very useful things to know! And thanks to all those who replied, great post. My question is: how important is GRE in the admission process? I'm pretty sure I can get a 790-800Q, but I'm quite concerned with my verbal and AWA. How important are they, and any suggestions on preparing? Thanks a lot!!
  4. thanks albetalla!! :) Just another question: would ph.D-level econ courses be helpful with the application? I'm considering the ph.D level microeconomics course for next semester...
  5. Hey all, Congratulations to all those who got in!!
