  1. Hey , firstly like skarya says u shud b looking at around 49 in your quant section. secondly, dont make the decision of writing the GMAT again in a haste. The GMAT only constitutes one part of an application. I agree you would like a better score there but do not pressure yourself. The key to success any such exam is a free mind. Because the moment you pressurise yourself you are gonna b unsure during the exam. And any significant change would first appear on http://www.mba.com . so if the guys there dont say anything there is no need to be worried and Good luck ..
  2. congrats !! good score and a nice split!!
  3. hey congrats !! the most important thing is to complete wat u wanted to ... and nothing is gonna give u more confidence than that . :) all the best for ur apps!
  4. thanks, About my background , wel , i am an Engineering student . Just finisht my B.E in Computer Science (2002-2006). Have joined CTS now. :) thats about it
  5. Thanks skarya , I think u can manage a 50 score with an avg of about 5 errors provided all of them have been made after the first 15-20questions. The first 10 questions are pretty much the most important in either section. these r prob my inputs from the test U will need your passport as the primary source of identification Carry an extra photo-id as proof (just in case) like your license . Once into the testing centre u will be photographed, finger-printed and asked sign on a touch-pad ... (the finger-printing process - u wud have to do repeatedly as in every time u come out and go back into the hall during breaks ... so remember the finger position to avoid small frustrations during the exam) You would also be asked to sign a declaration agreeing to be video and audio taped inside the hall ... once these r done u wud be given a computer and logged in ... (the test as such is xactly the same way the gmatprep test delivers itself) I am sure u will crack it ... All the best ...
  6. I should have got down to writing this ages ago .. but never actually found time ... just started my job have been all over the place for a while .... nyway ... firstly i would like to thank all members of this forum hoo helped me out with valuable tips and material ... as far as preparation strategies go .... here r my inputs 1. Your first and most important task i wud say is to identify ur problem areas ... take up a couple of diagonostics and u wud know .... personally i found three questions to fall under 4 different categories ... a. questions that i always got right and dint spend too much time on(typically quants - my stronger section) ... b.questions i spent a lot of time on and got 'em right (critical reasonong) c.questions where my accuracy was around 50% ... i.e there was no sureity i wud get them right ... (RC was one such section) d. questions tht my knowledge never backed me to get the right answer .... (sentence correction) 2. Now that u have done this - 'd' is ur DANGER zone ... something tht u have to work on right away ... to tackle this u wud typically have to start from ... get ur basics right for eg. i had to brush up my grammar knowledge then try and identify the types of errors u r making ... it generally follows a pattern(ur mind learns from recognition ... the moment u identify tht pattern ... u have mastered it) once u have done this its only fine tuning tht u require 'c' is an area of concern ... the best solution to c is practice .... 'b' just requires u to time urself ... u can deal with this a little later once u r a month into prep time ...(typically over a 2 - 2.5 month period) 'a' is ur comfort zone .... work on it wen u wanna break from the learning :) 3.Once u have done this ... take tests regularly and keep tabs on the errors u make ... 4. lastly ... never pressurise urself with a score .... go with an open mind and i am sure u will crack it .... if u have any other questions ,mail me! - kayvster@gmail.com
