For those who were offered high rates for internship- Was previous work experience (either as a Pharmacy tech. here or pharmacy experience from your home country or any other work experience) a vital factor in getting the offers from chain pharmacies with high pay rates. Also is there anyone among you who got an internship position without any previous pharmacy experience. Please answer me.

Hi pharmalady, It seems that your's also is a wise decision. I was so confused about the procedures and finally took the Ph.Tech. certification. The reason is that I'm nervous to take the exams without any pharmacy experience. I hope this will help to get some experience. Another option may be to do internship in another state. Am planning to do one of these. Wish you good luck with your exams!

Thanks guys. So do you think it's mandatory to apply for the intern license even if we don't intend to start the internship until clearing the exams. I haven't applied for the license as I can not take the exam soon. pharmalady, if I'm not wrong, I think I can avoid this problem by applying for license only after the exams. What do you think? -

Hi saritha, Congrats on passing the NAPLEX. I need some guidance from you. I have received my FPGEC certificate and am currently in Texas. I would like to know whether you have passed NAPLEX without any internship. If so, is it hard to learn for Naplex without internship. Is it possible to pass this exam by studying only APhA book and without any internship experience. Also did you take the exam within 3 months of receiving the certificate. Before applying for NAPLEX did you get the intern license. Could you please tell me how much time is required for the preparation. Sorry for asking you many questions. But it would be greatly helpful if you give me some ideas. Good luck with your MPJE. Thank you.

Hi TaTum I think practicing to summarise and then reproduce it in our own words is a very helpful thing to do. You can practice by listening to small segments of news or any other programs in the TV (taking down notes).Then you can give a summarised talk about that for 1 min. or so.It also is important that you should record your response.You can improve by analysing your own talk.This practice can be done by reading(eg.articles,books etc.) and summarising too.Pronunciation can be improved by listening to newsreaders and imitaing their pronunciation. From my experience, paraphrasing also helps the score. Different from the initial couple of exams I started to concentrate on the integrated questions which I thought would be easy even without pracice. But practice makes a great difference. Good thing is that you can pass the exam with 2 Goods which come from the 4 integrated questions. Getting a companion to practice with will help you to come up with new ideas especially for the independent speaking questions. My husband was a great help for me. Another thing I realized is that we can perform better if we are not stressed about the exam. Just keep on trying and one day God will surprise you with a great score. That was my experience. Hi guys After talking with Lisa of Texas Board, I reached at conclusions like these; we have to give Naplex-Mpje within 3 months of receiving FPGEC, IF we have applied for intern license. So if we don't want to take the exams in this period(or want more than 3 months time) we just have to postpone applying for intern license. 3 month period is only applicable to those who apply for intern license. This is my understanding. Correct me if I'm wrong or missed something. Also we have to find an intern position and a preceptor before applying for intern license and have to give their information while applying for intern license.

Hi Fafy Congratulations. I too passed my Toefl Ibt recently and am waiting for the certificate. Are you saying that we can register online for the intern license even before receiving the certificate.Also is there any problem if we dont actually start to work as an intern after getting the license. Because in my case I may not be able to concentrate in studies if I have to work. And do you have any idea about the maximum no. of chances we can take for getting through Naplex.I'm in the DFW area.And I believe the book you referred is the 5th edition of APhA. It's available in the APhA site.

Finally I cleared Toefl Ibt speaking (26) with God's grace. It was my 8th attempt. Have been waiting to see this score for a looong time. A big thanks to almighty God. Thanks to this forum and all my friends here for the motivation which was very much needed for me. I didn't do anything different from the previous ones. It's a miracle from God. So my suggestion is to keep on giving it and at one point you will clear it.

I faxed my rescoring request on Nov.9th. It showed in my profile (after somedays) that I ordered it on 21st Nov. Fees was taken from the account on 29th. There was no communication for 1 month. Last week I called them to know the status and was told that my rescoring is done and that there is no change in the score. And two days back I received the same information in mail. 23 hasn't changed. Hope this helps.

hi all I have a question regarding internship. Is it required that we should work in a pharmacy for a period of time (as a pharmacy technician) before we can work as interns. Or can we approach the pharmacy directly for intern position. BTW I'm awaiting my EAD and I don't have any work experience. Suggestions are highly appreciated Thanks
