  1. Hi evensflow, don't you think the right answer is rather B than C?, the argument we were supposed to indicate has to support the critics of mall intercepts not the intercepts themselves, which actually does the C answer. hope u agree? Jo
  2. Hi, well this one is not that obvious. I think in the questions like this one we have to find a strong connection between the thesis and the argument which is supposed to weaken or support the thesis. So if the thesis is as follows: Therefore, such gifts exacerbate rather than lighten the demands made on a museum's financial resources. the argument we looking for has to refer to the gifts and costs not to the donator or museum etc. The only one fullfilling this criteria is E., this is the only one telling sth about gifts, and the conclusion is: if the museum didn't get the gifts from the donator some of them (objects) are of such importance that the museum would have to buy them by itself and bear the costs of storage anyway. hope it helps Joanna
  3. Hi, well, to me A is correct and the only logical and possible answer, cause the motorist does "honk" in response, and this is the only answer telling that expressis verbis hope you agree Jo :p:p
  4. Hi, the main difficulty in this question is to understand what is the sort of Hotco's payment and I think Your problem raises from one mistake at the beginning: the false conclusion You made: The amount of money will Hotco receive is equal to the oil saving in last 2 year + the oil cost in the next 2 years. while the original sentence is: the cost savings between the total amount the asphalt plant actually paid for oil using its former burner during the last two years and the total amount it will pay for oil using the Hotco burner during the next two years. the true conclusion: Hotco earns the sum being the difference between oil costs spent by the Asphalt plant using the former oil burner and the sum spent on oil used to Hotco's oil burner. to sum up: The bigger is the cost of oil and the more the Hotco's oil burner uses the smaller is the difference and the less money Hotco makes. That's why the only possible answer is E.
