  1. Assuming you are a foreign student coming to the US, the anser is Yes all these universities need bank statement. ( ::: However you do not have to send it at the time of applying to these schools ). Once the admission decision is made the "International Office/Council/or whatever name they go by" of the respective schools will notify you of the bank statement requirement if it was not provided at the time of application. ( Also once you are applying for the F-1 visa more than likely the embassy will require you to have the bank statement as well ). The admission decision itself is not contingent on providing a bank statement for all cases. ( unless you are applying well after the scholarship decision had been made and you are applying as a foreign student who is not competing for the funding, then it might be a good idea to include the bank statement with your application).
  2. UTD is ranked 214 ( econphd rankings); UTA is unranked. Therefore, they are pretty close as far as rankings are considered. Going to UTA u'll save $12,000 in terms of tuition...and get an extra $9,600 from working on campus (assuming u're there for four semester). So basically you'll end up with some sort of teaching experience and save some money. UTA therefore seems to be the better option.
  3. Both.School itself is in or around 100, and no ranking for the economics department itself.
  4. Hello, I was ondering if anyone can provide any insights as to the value of a PhD from a school that is unranked in the Economics PhD. Is it a total waste of time? Most likely not...though I'll find out once I finish. On a scale of 1 to 10 how does it compare to adding value to your earning potential in the long run, 1 being the least. And no, I do not want to do an MBA to earn more.... Good placement in the academia from unranked departments is unheard of, however how are the placement for people getting PhD's from unranked schools. What do/can they do as a career. Are there anything that can complement a PhD economics form an unranked schools like getting CPA/CFA/FRM/Actuary type certifications for the private sector..and if so which in your opinion would be the most helpful. I am talking about a school ranked around 100( national university :US news) , not that it add any relevance to my questions. sorry for the duplicate post..... thanks
