Hello,
I was ondering if anyone can provide any insights as to the value of a PhD from a school that is unranked in the Economics PhD.
Is it a total waste of time? Most likely not...though I'll find out once I finish.
On a scale of 1 to 10 how does it compare to adding value to your earning potential in the long run, 1 being the least. And no, I do not want to do an MBA to earn more....
Good placement in the academia from unranked departments is unheard of, however how are the placement for people getting PhD's from unranked schools. What do/can they do as a career.
Are there anything that can complement a PhD economics form an unranked schools like getting CPA/CFA/FRM/Actuary type certifications for the private sector..and if so which in your opinion would be the most helpful.
I am talking about a school ranked around 100( national university :US news) , not that it add any relevance to my questions.
sorry for the duplicate post.....
thanks
