  1. Hi, I got a lot of guidance from this forum when I needed it. And I wanted to share my admission result here. I got accepted into the University of Minnesota Carlson Part-time MBA program for Spring 2007. I work in the Twin Cities and this is the only university I applied to, so I was really concerned. My profile: 26, male, Indian, working on a H1 Visa here. - Bachelor of Engineering in Computers. - GMAT: 570, AWA :5.5 - TOEFL: 107 - Work Experience: 5 years as a Software Engineer, 3 years with an Indian IT company and 2 years in a US company. - Extra Curricular Activities: Volunteer at the local library, member of the company Employee Council, Secretary of a local ToastMasters club. Thanks and good luck.

  3. This was my first attempt and I gave this exam to be eligible for the MBA program at the University of Minnesota. So I don't require a 26. I prepared for about a week and I have no plans to give it again. I had to go to a different city for the exam, So i won't even think of it. I practised for all the sections except speaking. No matter how good you are once you are put in the spot and you have to speak into that headset, it's hard. I could have done better if I had made some templates for speaking. I used 'Cracking the TOEFL' which is an excellent book a lot better than 'The Official Guide'. Good Luck.
  4. Hi, I had given my test on Oct-18 and just received my score. Total-107. Reading-28 Listening-28 Speaking-23 Writing-28 I knew I had screwed up in the speaking section and was expecting a score of below 20. But am happy to have received 23. I will be happy to answer any questions if somebody needs more information. Good luck to you all.
  5. I am taking my test on Oct-18 at 10 am in Duluth, Minnesota. Good luck to you all.
  6. Hi All, I am taking my GMAT on Oct-9, 2006 in Minnesota, US. I started studying from Aug-3 and will probably have to give my TOEFL a week after Oct-9 since I have to send my application so the university to be considered for their fall-term. Cheers,
