  1. GMATBong: You mean, we need to mention our name and details over the transcript envelope ?My envelope has a "To" section which is empty and a From section which has my udnergrad college's name and address. So do I need to put my own name and detail in the To section of the transcript envelope and put it in a different envelope and then post it to the school ?
  2. Thanks a lot GMATBong. After some more research,i totally agree with your assessment. Here is the list of schools,i plan to apply to : Kellogg - (will position myself for Tech MC) Sloan - (Tech MC and Tech Leadership etc.) Tuck - (I won't be able to finish my app for the Nov 30 round, does it make sense to apply for the Jan 11 round which they call as the 2nd round ??) Ross Duke UCLA Yale Tepper Let me know if my choices look ok.Looking at my profile,do you think i have any chance of getting some aid from any of the above schools ?

  4. hey ramana..congrats man!..Do you remember what speaking questions you got for speaking tasks 1 and 2 ?
  5. I have just recently started researching for universties/colleges...so haven't yet finalized any.
  6. I did see an improvement. In GMATPrep1 ,i got 660 and the fifth and the last GMATPrep i took was one week before the real gmat and i got 760 in that...offcourse many questions were repeated. So for me,practice and the study of the right material gave a boost of 100 points.
  7. Hi Guys, Sorry for the late response.Got busy with work etc.. Let me answer all the questions one by one: 1.I didn't see any surprises on the test. The questions were not too tough. But some of them were more time taking but certainly solvable. One thing i noted though was that there were many questions on number theory, specially the ones like what will be the remainder when some number to the power some number is divided by some number.Basically,if you know the funda of cyclicity of numbers,it will get you through them pretty easily.Rest were all the ones you would normally expect. 2.a)What i think i did right was to NOT ignore quant. Many of my friends told me that quant will be easy but it is not true.If you want to get a high score in quant try to solve many harder questions.GMATPrep and Sets quant qns are very good.During the test, don't spend too much time on a question and screw up your time management.Pace yourself well. b) For verbal,in the beginning of your preparation, try to take your time solving the CR/RC questions.Understand the reasoning behind each CR question's answer.Try to solve as many questions as possible. After you reach a good amount of comfort level, you can start solving them under timed condition. 3.Kaplan 800 is not as good as it claims to be.If you ask me,which sections in it are good,i would say just the verbal part. But the book in itself is not sufficient. I think, the key during preparation is practice.Practice more and more GMAT qns like the ones in sets.If you can get hold of MJJs and VJJs,it will be really beneficial. All the best! Gmattering
  8. Guys, Took the GMAT today morning and got a 760 (Q51,V41) :-)...Many thanks to everyone in the forum.I couldn't participate much in the discussions but learnt a lot from reading them. I think that no matter how much one prepares, the key to gettting a high score in the exam is to keep a cool head.I have serious test anxiety problems but somehow i conquered it today. The main reason was that i did not set big score goals for myself.I just went with an aim to do well and score as much points as possible and get a decent score. Also,i kept telling myself in the back of my mind that even if i screw this up i can come back with more preparation next month and nail it down. As far as preparation.Started with Princeton, moved on to OG11 and Kaplan 800.Last one month i started doing sets.Took the GMATPrep test about 5 times.Clinton's materials also helped me a lot. Thanks to Clinton and everyone in the forum!! All the best guys! Gmattering
  9. for Q29,ans is point C Distance between G~F=3^12-3^11=2*(3^11) Since distance between points is equal,i.e=2*(3^11) So E will be =3^11-2*(3^11)= -(3^11) So,C will be=-(3^11)-2*(3^11)=-3*(3^11)=-(3*12)
  10. for Q47,i think the answer is E.The question doesn't say whether the people have to choose either Desert or Cofee. It's possible that some may not choose either.
  11. 434: the two sequences will repeat for the first time after 12 enters.LCM(4,3)=12
  12. wow...thanks... I found one more formula to find the area of a triangle when one of the vertex is at the origin(0,0) Area=1/2 |x1y2 - x2y1| So again ans will be =1/2 |-2-2|=2
  13. What is the area of a triangle whose co-ordinates are (-2,2),(0,0) and (1,1) ? Is there any quick approach ?
  14. oh yeah,D it is.Thanks "JustMe123",ur explanation was good.
