hi we learned zorn's lemma and axiom of choice.our professor said the these lemma are similar to cesaro's lemma on subsequences but he was not specific about it.I dont really see the similarity. can anyone help me with this matter? thanks nadav

did he earn a phd in econ as well?if he did,I would conclude that it is possible to take a substantial amount of math courses during the econ phd according to a recommended program by one's superviser.

hi i am an ma student in economics.i am taking phd level core courses at my university . could i be exampt from some core courses in an american phd program?and if so, will i have time to take math classes instead? in general,is it possible to take math classes in a phd program (will i have time to take them)?
