congratulations to all the admitted,
i'm a first year student at harvard, I'll be more than happy to answer your questions if you have some.
good luck to those who haven't already heard from here, prof athey and prof laibson are hard workers, they may keep on calling during the weekend :)
I'd like also to say a few words on my experience last year.
1. I was waitlisted in harvard and was admitted the last day, 15 march or something like that; if you are on some waitlist do not despair, wait till the end, there may still be hope.
2. About visiting days. Since I wasn't admitted at harvard at the time of visiting days, i didn't attend harvard ones; I only went to visit berkeley, yale and nwu. The university which impressed me the most was yale, they really put a lot of effort to convince you to go there, they have a lot of money, the campus is really beautiful, the department seemed a great environment, people seemed relaxed and friendly: I loved it. Berkely is obviously a dream school, but most professors I talked with told me that I should have preferred nyu or even minnesota over it. Nwu was depressing, it's top in theory, but evanston is sad and the pressure they put on students is really too much; in the end I was extremely lucky to get into harvard, I don't really know what I would have chosen.
3. About harvard. I love it here, it's an awesome place, really. People are fantastic, professors are incredibly brilliant, placement is incredible, cambridge is a wonderful town to live in, plenty of reasons to come here.
good luck to everyone again and I look forward to see you here for the visiting days
