I took the Kaplan course and was averaging 1280 on my CAT's and my Gre power prep practice tests (680 V, 600 Q). Nothing to write home about compared to some of your scores, but I am a Psychology major, so they were good enough. I took the test on Wed night and seriously did not know how to do any of the math. I memorized over 1,000 words and I saw maybe a handful on the test. I re-learned all the geometry and was given one triangle the entire test, one! I got a horrible 1,000, my Q score was beyond terrible. I am an honors student and a tutor and I am so embarassed - everything for my applications was nearly perfect (GPA, research experience, publications, awards). Now its all ruined. My professors are even treating me like I am an idiot all of a sudden because everyone thought I was going to break 1300 at the least. Anyway, mortification aside, I have to retake this test ASAP or I am not going to get into any Ph.D programs. I took another practice GRE yesterday and scores a 670 V, 610 Q. So, I am confused as to how I bombed so badly. How could this have happened? Is there something I am missing? When I saw everyone elses practice scores they seemed to match their real ones, but not mine (and I have taken 5 CAT's!). I am rescheduled for December 6th. Any advice? Thank you!
