  1. If any one wants Manan shroff books(Theory, Management, Pharmaceutical calculations and Question and Answers Guide) and also the CDs please send me a private message. I am currently living in Claremont, CA and will be moving to Bay area by the end of this month. I bought these in 2006 and I am willing to give them for free. I would prefer if someone can pick them up before I move out of Claremont. Thanks
  2. Once stamped your H1-Visa will be valid for two and half years even if your passport is valid only for one year. Your can renew your passport at your country's embassy in U.S. I am currently on F1 and my passport is valid until next year where as my visa is valid until 2012. So do not worry.

    statistics

There is no computation involved. It follows from the definition of p-value. Assuming that the null hypthesis is true, p-value will tell you the probability that the test-statistic will take a value as extreme as the one that was actually observed. Since the p-value is More explanation: In this case your null hypothesis would be, H0: drugA is inferior to drugB and the alternate hypothesis woule be, H1: drugA is not inferior to drug B If the p-value of the statistic is
  4. Hi yannl, Which part of Bay Area are you assigned to? Are they paying you relocation expenses?
  5. I got sponsored by Walgreens. I was just letting people know that Rite-aid is also sending receipt notices.
  6. Don't worry, he is still in the processing of sending e-mails to everyone. In some cases he might send the approval notices directly by Fedex.
  7. I did not say approval notices, I said receipt notices.
  8. Guys, Rite-aid has started sending the receipt notices.
  9. If they do have the information then we should receive it by Fedex this week. I was going through last year's posts, most of them said that they directly received the approval notices by snail mail.
  10. When you file for your H1, you have a choice to apply for premium processing (costs $1000 more than regular). USCIS will process those petitions within 15 days. The number of visas available is still 65,000+20,000 = 85,000. It was never increased to 115,000.
  11. That is not true. I know that Walgreens has also filed cases with premium processing, but we haven't seen any receipt notices from them yet. Either the lawyer might be waiting to get final approval notices before intimating the candidates or they were not selected under the lottery.
  12. It looks like USCIS is issuing receipts in alphabetical order of company names. This means that receipts for Walgreens would be issued last. Hahaaa... I am just kidding, don't take this seriously. Good luck to everyone.
  13. Don't worry. Your masters' degree need not be related to Pharmacy. You just need to have a masters degree (in any field) to apply under advanced degree quota.
  14. If it is for your internship then I would stick with the first company. Because, once you get your pharmacist license the pay rate would be the same at all the chains. Moreover I don't like contracts. Best of luck.
  15. Just send the application. They will issue a deficiency letter, which will be enough when you apply for jobs.
  16. As far as I know USCIS does not sort petitions based on the professions of the candidates. A petition filed by a pharmacist is treated in exactly the same manner as the petition filed by an IT guy.
  17. As far as I know Walgreens does not allow any one to do their internship while in OPT status. You should try other chains. I know that CVS and Rite-Aid hire interns in OPT status. Also, try explaining to the District Manager of Walgreens and the international pharmacist that you did PharmD in U.S. They might reconsider your case. Best of luck.
  18. It is now official. USCIS Reaches FY 2009 H-1B Cap
  19. I think that you should be fine. You can definitely file two H1-B visa applications from two different companies. The companies can only ask you to pay back the attorney fee. USCIS rules stipulate that they cannot ask you to return the H1-B filing fees. As far as legal disputes are concerned, that will be according to the contract that you sign with the company. Most companies make it clear that the job offer is contingent on you receiving the H1 and that you have to pay back the legal fees ($1000 or so) if you break the contract.
  20. Go to APHA website, the new edition (2008) is now available. To buy the book, click on Shop Apha in the website menu and then click on student resources.
  21. The legal agreement was for the reimbursement of legal fees in connection with filing the H1. The document says that we have to stay with the company for 3 years, otherwise we need to payback the legal fees which is close to $1000. I got the document from International Pharmacist by e-mail.
  22. After you submit your documents, it takes a week before they fax you the offer letter. As far as I understand the offer letter does not mention any contract. About the same time you will also recieve a legal agreement document which contains a contract agreement.
