  1. Hey GMAT Bong...or someone who is an Asian in US, would you know?
  2. Hi, I am an international candidate based in HK. I got an admit from Duke MBA. Moreover, I have also got an admit from HKUST MBA , which is Asia's no.1 MBA program.Given the current recession state in the US, i am very confused about the US economy. However i would be happy to hear the big strengths of duke mba program if i want to work in asia in future..... appreciate inputs ( my parameters are placements, marketing focus, salary, global mobility ) The strengths of HKUST is renowned in asia, world class faculty but asian salaries..... Appreciate inputs....Thanks, Regards, Karishma
  3. Also i have had a decent essay, AWA scores awaited. Moreover, my GPA is 3.0 based on my Master's results.
  4. Extra Curriculars wise - I have been quite active with the American Chamber of Commerce at Hong Kong driving some key entertainment creative projects for their Hong Kong chapter of members. After college i have been active with NGO ,Child Relief and You in terms of helping them get funding opportunities within India and abroad. Moreover, I won an inter business school case study presentation during my post graduation which was instrumental in me winning a campus job with a cola multinational in India. Also with respect to roles of leadership, i was identified among a pool of new recruits to take a client within Unilever to Amsterdam for a key business presentation. In terms of my experience i have handled national and now regional level role. It involves handling language barriers and driving revenue by working with regional teams distanced across various time zones. I have been handling a Fortune 500 client and have moved on to a client servicing director role within few months of moving to Hong Kong. Keeping my overall work experience in background, would you think I stand chance for one of the Top 15 US colleges. Am keen on US schools, primarily. My heart was set on Kellog but dont know if i really stand any chance. Wanted to know how would it be with Kenan Flagler, Cornell and Darden primarily. Giving a second GMAT at this stage if i want to make it for R2 seems a bit stretched. I did goof up on verbal but dont have any time window to re-appear. Would you suggest a good marketing MBA within US. If I am keen on one of the US universities what would my option be.

  6. Hi GMATBong, I have been wanting to write this for quite long but finally got the chance to do so. I will need your point of view, since i aim to apply for R2 deadline to some colleges. My profile : 1. Work Experience- Slightly more than 7 years of experience. 2. Currently working as Accounts Director, heading client servicing for Apac clients. This is with an advertising agency (one of top advertising agency)in Hong Kong. 3. Past experience- worked with top US cola multinational in national business development ,marketing roles in India, before moving to HK. 4. GMAT Score- 650(M48,V31) 5. Education- Masters in Personnel Management, BA (Economics) (Top 10%) Target Schools - Darden, Duke, Kenan Flagler, Insead. Need your word of advice, caution and what would your overall view on my profile be.
  7. what was your strategy for verbal. Was it OG alone or did you do SETs along with OG. Was curious to know about verbal approach.
  8. One important rule for inference questions : Inference in GMAT questions are premises that are not stated. Long distance bicycle routes are in Europe, is a clear premise that if added can make conclusion more logical.
