  1. Hi I haven´t taken the test, but I have checked the official guide for the GRE Revised Test and there are many questions for critical reasoning (similar to the questions in the GMAT). There are many questions about inferences (in CR and RC). My suggestion: practice with the CR questions from the Official Guide for the GMAT. The advantage is that they give you the explanations for the FIVE answer choices. The best way to know that your answer is correct, is that you are sure the other four cannot be the answers. The Critical Reasoning questions were included in the GRE until the year 2002, in the analytical section. That is why I put "again" in my title. If you have the Big Book for the old GRE, you will see them there.
  2. Hi there I would like to know the order of the sections in the GRE Revised Test. I heard that the essays are first. Is that true? If so, which one is first? Issue or Argument essay? Then, what follows? What section is first: quantitative or verbal? If somebody knows / remembers, please let me know. Besides, if you have info or some comments about the "extra" (experimental) section, please tell me. Many thanks Peter GMAT
  3. Hi Can you tell me if there are more questions about arithmetic than questions in algebra and/or geometry? Many Thanks Peter GMAT
  4. Hi everybody I heard that in the Old GRE, you received a penalty for not finishing your test, so you had to guess and marked ALL the answers. Does anybody know if that penalty is applied in the NEW GRE REVISED? Thanks
  5. Hi Could you tell me if you had more questions about arithmetic (integers, ratios, fractions, percents, etc) or it was an equal number for arithmetic, algebra, geometry? Did you have questions about work problems, motion problems, sets, probability and statistics? What were the questions in algebra about? Thanks Peter GMAT
  6. Hi everybody I have seen this question in gmatprep and the OA is D. Where did you see that the OA is C? In the OG? WARNING! I have noticed that some gmatprep questions in verbal (especially CR) use the same argument, but change the question or the choices. So, read carefully when you make the review.
  7. Sorry guys I also had a typo in my reply THE ORIGINAL CHOICE D is Leakey's contributions.... so, INCLUDE is correct
  8. Hi Guys The OA is D and that choice is: D) Leakey's contribution to archaeology include her discovery of the earliest direct evidence of hominid activity and her painstaking documentation of I hope it is more clear now that the typos are corrected.
  9. Hi guys The OA is C. I have just checked it.
  10. Hi Guys I have just checked in my pool of gmatprep questions and the OA is B. Can gmatprep have mistakes in the OA? Peter GMAT
  11. Hi friends I agree with you. The level and the variety of questions is much better in 800score than in other traditional books. You can see probability, permutations & combinations, coordinate geometry and other topics you cannot find in other tests. The score you receive is very helpful. Unfortunately, the pool is limited and it doesn´t have many quantitative comparison questions. Has anybody tried the CATs from Computer Adaptive Test Prep - Practice Exams, Testing Software, Accurate Score Assessments I have checked the CATs for the GMAT. The pool of questions is limited (I calculate 50 for 37 questions in math, for example), but the level of difficulty is harder and the score you get is closer to the one in the real GMAT. I don´t know if it is the same in the GRE CATs. If you have the information, please let me know. Thanks Peter
  12. My comments about 800 score: 1. Take the same test 3 times and tell me if the questions were different or not. When I did it, 95% of the questions were the same. How could it be"adaptive" then? 2. Count the number of "quantitative comparison" questions in the test. When I did it I found a few. Please, tell us if you tried 800 score and had a similar experience. Peter
  13. Thanks for the information I didn't know there was a big pool of questions in the CATs in powerprep. The bad thing is the lack of feedback because the software does't provide explanations. Does the questions in powerprep include topics about sets, coordinate geometry or probability? You said that the software is an indicator of the level in the real test, but my friends told me that the reading texts were long. My friends also told me that they had two quantitative sections in the exam. Is that occurring nowadays? I know that two to three years ago you could have an additional verbal or quantitative section (one of them experimental). Then, in 2006, other friends who took the GRE told me that they were asked to do an additional section ONLY IF THEY WANTED to do it. That "extra" section (verbal or quantitative) contained questions with the new GRE format (it was going to change last year, do you remember?). I think the new questions were tested before the change. Do you know anything about all this? Thanks Peter
  14. Hi Are you sure "powerprep" is the best software? I have two friends who took the test two days ago and told me the graphics for data interpretation were different. Besides, I think "powerprep" has not updated the questions. Finally, it doesn't give you the explanations of the questions in the CATs, only the score (at least in the CD I have)? Am I right? How can you improve if you still don't know how to solve the questions? Thanks Peter
