  1. hi everyone! I just submitted my documents to the California Board of Pharmacy. I'm just wondering how long will it take them to process my license. I'm very anxious and I can't wait to work as an intern now. So please, please can someone tell me how long it is? Thank you so much! Regards to all!!!:D
  2. Yes I agree with you libra! It's really a miracle that I pass because I really had a hard time on the second part of the exam!!! Congratulations to you!!!
  3. I'm nervous too... but I always tell myself to --> KEEP THE FAITH! Like what you guys said, we've done our part... and let's entrust everything to the Lord now... Good Luck to all of us!:)
  4. Hi. I need help with computations. I got the sample problems at CPR chapter 6. Problem 1- A new cephalosporin antibiotic was given at 5mg/kg by a single IV bolus injection to a 58yr old man who weighs 75kg. The antibiotic follows a pharmacokinetics of one-compartment model & has an elimination half life of 2hrs. The apparent volume of distribution is 0.28L/kg and the drug is 35% bound to plasma proteins. 1. What is the initial plasma drug concentration? (Cp) ans: 1339mg/L 2. What is the Cp at 8hr after the dose? 3. How much drug remains in the patient's body (Db) 8 hr after the dose? 4. How long after the dose is exactly 75% of drug eliminated from the patient's body? Problem 2 - A 35 yr old man who weighs 70kg & has normal renal function needs an IV infusion of antibiotic carbenicillin. The desired steady-state plasma concentration is 15mg/dL. The physician want the antibiotic to be infused into the patient for 10hrs. CArbenicillin has an elimination half-life of 1 hr & apparent volume of distribution(Vd) of 9L in this patient. 1. Assuming that no loading dose was given, what rate of IV infusion is recommended for this patient? 2. Assuming that no loading dose IV dose was given, how long after the initiation of the IV infusion would the plasma drug concenration reach 95% of the theoretic steady-state drug concentration? 3. Waht is the recommended loading dose? 4. What is the total body clearance rate for the carbenicillin in this patient? 5. If the patient's renal clearance for carbenicillin is 85 mL/min, what is the hepatic clearance in this patient? 6. To infuse the antibiotic as solution containing 10g drug in 500 mL 5% dextrose, how many milliliters per hour of the solution would be infused into the patient? Thanks a lot! Im really having a hard time when it comes to computation part.
  5. Hi kgba! Thanks for the encouragement! Will put that in mind. As of now I'm busy studying Manan's Q&A. Some how I could remember the basics, but its been 7 years now since I graduated pharmacy. I wasnt able to pratice hospital or community pharmacy . What I practiced was industrial pharmacy. So now, I'm trying hard to update myself and to remember the basics. Anyway, I know I just have to believe in myself & to study as much as I could.....Again, thanks to you & Regards!!! = )
  6. Hi!!!Thanks a lot for the help. I really appreciate it. I admire you guys, maybe you are really one of the intelligent students in your class.... as for me, Im just an average that's why I worry much...hehehe... By the way, should I also focus on computation? thanks again!!! = )
  7. Hi habo! Yes, I'm talking about the FPGEE...I tried looking into some post but some are telling that CPR & Manan is not enough...makes me worry because I have 5 months left and I still don't know if I'm in the right track...so I'm trying to get some advice from the previous test takers... Are you done with the test? What are your references then? Thank you so much! = )

Is there someone who can tell me what particular subject to concentrate on? Any feedback from december 2007 exam takers? Please help, I really want to pass the exam. Thank you so much! Best Regards to all!

  12. hi there! when is the dealine for the application for june 2007. And once you submitt your form 100(registration form) how long before you will receive your approval letter. Thanks!!!
  13. dear all, I came here in the US with a tourist visa. I arrived here last nov 2006, and my visa will expire on may 2007. I went here early, i'm aiming for june 2007, by that time i will be out of status. But my dilemma is, cant go back to the philippines coz of my "brutal" x-husband might do something bad to prevent me from coming here in the US. I'm so depressed guys. Hope anyone can advise me what to do... thanks.
  14. hi there. Are you sure that the deadline for the application is this week? argh... i'm still not sure if i can make it on june coz my visa will expire on may 2007.... i went here too early.. i don't want to make you nervous but a lot of my friends who works for unilab was denied for a visa coz the consul said that they are young, single & they have no reason to go back to the philppines... but if you're married, you have a chance...but anyway, this is only a piece of advice....as for me, i was issued a multiple visa coz 1 factor is that i'm married(although i'm separated..didnt tell them) so they are assuming that i will come back for my husband.... and when i applied, i was coached by an agency... they advised me that i should not tell them that i will take an exam coz i'm applying for a tourist visa...meaning i'm going to the US coz i wanna have fun, visit my parents & bring my son to disneyland... hope this will help....but KEEP the FAITH... always pray and the Lord will guide you.... Miracles do happen:) Good Luck & God Bless.
