  1. Good keep it going. This what the guy from Stanford said. It's always hard to tell how other schools will view our courses, but usually their view depends on their knowledge of our courses. Past students in your situation have provided information about our courses on their grad school applications and in their interviews. For instance, some students include a syllabus or lecture summaries to show what these courses cover and in what depth. Some students also include my contact information just in case the school needs more info. Often the fact that these courses are given undergraduate credit at Stanford is sufficient information for the other schools. Keep the discussion going
  2. Thanks for the great advice...also, out of curiousity is it easier to get a PhD in Finance or Economics? And is there a forum like this for Finance? My roomate is jealous.

  5. i would like to bump this because it seems important to us who have a strong profile save math courses and online standford couses or u illonois seem legit so ideas from the experts

These are the classes they offer at UI Math 220 (Calculus I) Math 231 (Calculus II) Math 225 (Introductory Matrix Theory) Math 241 (Calculus of Several Variables) Math 380 (Advanced Calculus) Math 385 (Differential Equations and Orthogonal Functions) Math 415 (Linear Transformations and Matrices) Math 461 (Introduction to Probability Theory I)This is like Godsend cos I need these courses to be competitive but I am asking if I take all of these will adcom be like...hell no these do not carry weight since they are net classes...and is better to take these or take them at a community college if the price is =, grades =, etc
  7. I went to BU and I would like to go to a top 15 program. though I did well in my undergrade I skimped on the math. I see univ of illonois has an online class program for non degree students with courses ranging from....calc 3...diff eq...lin alg...matrix analysis... econometrics...intermed macri and micro...would this hurt my chances more than help...i would take it at a community college but I need 2 jobs so I can apply in fall 2008
