  1. The naplex questions don't resemble exactly the same as in our books, but the study of such profile questions from book does help us in understanding the tricks of questions and also the subject.I really benefitted by reading such questions.Other wise just APHA was not enough.Good luck.
  2. Thanks saritha, My test started with a calculation question. It was a concn strength calculation.Instead of giving %age, they gave it in ratio as 1:100,000.I got the answer. Then I was bombarded with profiles.Over all I think I had around 10-15 calculations spread through out the test. Some times even in profiles. It was quite interesting test.I suggest concentrate a lot on brand names even other than top 200.All my questions were with brand names.I also had questions on counseling for different inhalers and nebulising solutions.Don't worry,do your best and leave the rest to God the almighty.Wish you all the best.I studied from APHA and Federal and pharmacy drug law review-a patient profile approach by david and douglas. It's quite good book with more than 2000 pharmacology profiles.I bought that at Amazon after some of our member at this forum suggested it.
  3. By the grace of God I passed naplex. Thanks to all members of the forum.
  4. meq= mg * valency/ mol.wt mg = meq * mol.wt/ valency. For calculations part manan shroff is better, but you will not find this formula in that.Don't worry just practice with this it's easy.
  5. Thanks saritha for your clear explanation.I didn't expect it to be so simple.Actually I couldn't figure out that the density of ethanol is to be used for that of drug.Bravo you did a good job.Keep it up.
  6. :hmm:can any one solve this below question for me please? Source: FEDERAL AND PHARMACY DRUG LAW REVIEW An elixir dosage form is to be manufactured such that 1/4 oz of drug will be contained in each pint of solution.Formulation studies demonstrate a need for an ethanol concn of 20% v/v.{A 20% v/v ethanol soltn has a density of 0.95gm/ml}.What is the concn of drug in mg/ml? Ans] 15mg/ml.
  7. Thanks a lot fpgee123 for heads up and I wish you all the best.Iam going to take naplex quite soon.I studied from apha, ashp and a profile based questions book. For math I did manan shroff.I revised several times but every time it looks like I forgot .All those interactions and adverse reactions get mixed up.Most of my friends say we can recollect in exam. But Iam a little bit scared.Any suggestion in this regard please. Also how about time management. Was it sufficient enough, and manoeuvering on screen is ok?I mean access to calculator and profiles together. I will appreciate your reply. Thanks.
  8. PHARMACY AND FEDERAL DRUG LAW REVIEW by David and Douglas. The content is different from name. There are questions based on 250 clinical profiles on all chapters of pharmacology. It's a quite good book and available on Amazon.com
  9. Thompson prometric ATT is not good for Pearson.NABP will send your info to Pearson and they will send you a new ATT.Till then wait and pray.

  11. Hi Pharmacist 2005, I got two calculations which Iam unable to solve. Can you please help me do that. Q}An opthalmic solution is to be manufactured to contain 0.1 gm of drug in a 5ml container. The drug has a Nacl equivalent value of 0.2.The resultant solution provides 20 drops/ml. 1]How many gms of nacl should be used to prepare the solution? 2]How many gms of boric acid {Nacl equivalent value of 0.52}would have to be used to prevent pptn of drug? Thanks for your help.
  12. Thanks pharmacist2005 for your quick reply.I really appreciate it.
  13. Hi, Can any one tell me the equivalent dose of Iv hydromorphone to Po Morphine?
  14. Hi, I registered for naplex on Dec 18.But till now I didn't get my ATT.When I called nabp, they said that they mailed it on Dec 21.But the CSR was not sure to which test vendor they sent my info.I want to take naplex asap, but it looks like this change in test vendor may delay the process of ATT and even the test admn.Any clues please?:hmm:
