  1. As I said I don't want to do a Ph.D at this stage and am looking for a job and in the interim period I wish to do some course within the realm of health economics which will add to my masters CV. I am looking for a job in the private consulting/research sector. I am an undergraduate in economics honours from a top Asian country with a first class and a diploma in economics from a top UK school. GRE: Q 790. Thanks.
  2. fp3690, since I don't want to waste the period during which I'm looking for a job, I was wondering if I could do a course which adds to my masters degree. Thanks.
  3. I've done my master's in Health Economics from a top UK school and I'm now in the process of applying for a job. During the period of job search, I'm keen to improve my qualification. Any suggestions on what programmes I could look into? Thanks.
  4. I was wondering if any one could throw light on the prospects in consulting for a person with an MSc. in Health Economics from LSE or the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Sciences or any other reputed school?
  5. I wonder how accurate are the rankings of US News on Public Health Departments?
  6. Can you please give details of this program?
  7. Thank you both of you for your valubale inputs which have been encouraging and useful. One more question, how competitive is getting into a good US Health Economics PhD programme?
  8. Thank you for this useful information. How bright are the career prospects in Internatiobnal Health Economics, particularly in organisations like World Bank, IMF, WHO, etc. Also will firms like Lehman Brothers be interested in students from this field?
  9. What are the career prospects for a person with a Master's in International Health Economics. Which is the best place in the UK/Europe for this degree? Can a person do a Ph.D in this subject, preferably in the US?
  10. I am currently doing my master's in economics from a top UK school but there is a possibility that I may not fare well and, therefore, wish to have Plan B in place. However, I find that the deadline for applications in most good schools in Europe are over. Is there any one who can help me in the matter? Perhaps by identifying schools where applications are still being accepted? Thanks.
  11. I know definitely about MSc in Economics but most probably it may also apply to some other departments. It seems that LSE is concerned about murmurings of falling standards.
  12. Recently, I learnt from a reliable source that LSE is likely to reduce the number of seats in the MSc Economics programme to raise the standard of incoming students.
  13. Can someone please tell me what do Uk grades -- A, A-, B+, B -- translate into percentage terms? For example, is B+ a 65% or whatever? Thanks.
  14. I am currently in the first year of a top three UK Masters in Economics programme. My goal is to do a PhD in the US and I wish to further strengthen my Math. Is there a summer Math programme of the required standard and level which I could join? Thanks
  15. I was wondering what is more important to Adcoms while deciding on PhD in Economics applications -- higher grades or courses like real analysis but with not so high grades?
