  1. GOT MY TOEFL RESULTS BACK FROM 12th of MAYppff Hola well i finally got my TOEFL IBT test scores back, and im extremely disapoinded with the result. I got the following points: 10 READING 15 LISTENING 20 SPEAKING 20 WRITING TOTAL 65 POINTS pfffff :( i needed 93 for my course. I was extremely nervous in the beginning you can tell from the points i received on reading and listening. It just overtook me, beside my nervs the surrounding was really annoying. People were loud, sweaty and it was probably 40 degrees in the test center pfff... Anyways i still got untill september to pass an English exam approved by my university. So i decided to go to my university in Birmingham to take the WELT English exam it is diffrent then TOEFL or IETLS without Speaking and Listening parts. U get graded with either an A B C D E. A&B is top of IETLS 6.5/7.0 C is 6.0./6.5 i think etc. There are 3 brands so i need at least 2 C's and 1 B or more to pass its equal to 93 IBT. Not many Universities approve this exam gladly mine does. If i won't do well i will probably do the TOEFL again this time i will use some drugs to calm my nervs hehehe joke... Anywayz tell me your scores and how u think the TOEFL exam is, i think is should change one and another... Again im very very veryyyyyyyyy disapoinded with the results, also i found it strange that i have such a big diffrence between the brands come on 10 on READING and 20 on WRITING WOOW..... Bye, Ted The Netherlands

  3. hi there, I was wondering does anybody know or yet have experience with the fact that the questions on TOEFL IBT changing every now and then ? Did anybody took a re-test and found out that the questions were the same as u had before ? Let me know, and tell your experience about this ?  Peace, Ted
  4. I found the reading part subjects more difficult than i thought it would be. I mean Fossil Fuel Oil come on im not interested in that. Besides it's not an general subject to everybody. And the you get 20 minutes to read 1 full text than you have to answer 28 question. I think the time is way to short for that. and ETS should change the size of the text and shorten the questions to really answer all passages within time limits. I think that should change in the speaking part as well. Twenty seconds preperation time is way to short. And 40 secs answering time aswell. It should be 2 min prep time, so you can write at least something. And 1 minute speaking time to say everything you want to say. I mean im fluently in my english, since i have lived in Canada. But the time went so fast to answer, i could hardly prepare myself for what i would be saying. Therefore i thought this would be my best brand but instead i think it is one of my worst brands (subject) i have done in the whole exam. For now I have to wait 2 more weeks for my results i so hope i get a 93score since i need that to get in my uni.... ahhhhh PEACE, Ted

  7. Hi there, Im wondering what u guys think. Do you agree or disagree with the fact that the TOEFL IBT of this year 2007 is more difficult than the one of the practise test on ets.org which where questions from October 2006. I found the subject difficult, specially since you dont know anything about the subjects it can be hard to answer quickly. Let me explain what my thoughts were when i took the test yesterday 12th of May in the Netherlands. Hi i did my TOEFL IBT exam yesterday May 12th pfff. Honestly the test was way tougher than i thought it would be. Before taken the exam i did many Practice exams to prepare myself. Specially the one on ETS.org gave me a great impression. Since i lived in Canada i shouldn't had any problems with the speaking part. Well i can say that the reading and speaking part were the big problems. First, the reading section started with a massive academic text about fossil fuels orso like i really care about that subject it was pretty difficult. Than you got 20minutes to read 2 academic texts with 28 questions. Well i barely didn't make it to the end. As for the Speaking part, i was really disappoinded with the result. I was pretty nervous in the beginning and the subject was again not that easy or formiliar to me. Than you get 20 seconds to prepare your answer, and 40 seconds to answer it. I believe that is way to short time to actually give a normal answer. I was amazed that my best part was the Writing section. Well i asked many other students who took the exam with me, and they all said the same thing. :hmm: That makes you think that ETS should change some things. I was thinking making the Reading text smaller less questions. For the speaking part, 2 minutes for preperation and 1 minute to answer the question. I will also contact ETS and let them know my suggestions, cuz i believe this exam does not proof anything about your English ability. I need 93 points well i think i will receive not more then 70 :( so i will contact my University in England and see if i can do an internal TOEFL exam some do approve that. It is great to read other comments from people who took this exam, gladly im not alone in this, and parently people think the same as what i think about this exam. As for last, i want to say that the TOEFL test is just a moment recording, meaning you can prepare at your best for this exam, but still it comes to the moment ur actually taking this test. Nobody starts at the same time, some are already talking into the mic, ur neighbour is caughing or sneazing, the room is full of body heat with makes you sweat aswell, and when everybody reaches the speaking part, it sounds like working on a Call Center loll like i do in reallife parttime. Best luck, Ted The Netherlands
