Hi, friends, Here is my profile. Applied for- Ph.d chemistry, work experience- about 4 years in pharmaceutical industry. Qualification- M.Sc from HCU, pursuing M.S in Organic chemistry. GPA- 3.25. GRE Score- 1109(Verbal - 519, Quant- 590) TOEFL(IBT)- 83 List of universitties applied for southern Methodist university University of Georgia southern Illinois university University of New Orleans Alabama state university Mississippi state university Florida A & M university. University of Maryland University of Rhoda Islands. Lousiana state university. Kansas state university-- department accepted.but in the final grad school decision gave me negative result. I have sent all my application material by end of Feb 2007. Can anybody please analyze what might be the reasons of my rejections. I really want to know where is the problem before applying again. Dear rakeshgr8, Thank you very much for the information. But I have adoubt again, How do I choose which is top university/medium/bottom. without knowing these I have applied many universites, I have been rejected almost all that i have applied. When I checked their ranking after rejection, i found those are top 50 universities. I think my profile suits only medium level uni, not top. I have wasted lot of time and money, Now again I need to apply for next intake. If that ranking does not help to apply, could you please help me how do I choose this time. Hello friends! I have question regarding university ranking of US universities. when I am searching for the university ranking. It is given that particular univesity is first tier/second tier/third tier. But how do I know that particular university comes under which tier in my area of interest. Second thing I would like to know is, under university ranking details it is written that Selectivity - selective/more selective/most selective----What does it mean?
