  1. I'm in my second semester at Berkeley now. How's everyone going?
  2. I am maintaining a BLOG that is dedicated to post Computer Science PhD/Postdoc/Research/Internship positions as well as scholarships, fellowships from all over the world. I hope you find the site useful and it would be great if you can eventually find your own opportunity there. If you have any idea, please let me know ^_^. Cheers,
  3. Go UCLA mate :), great location, great money and most importantly, your advisor seems to be the leader in the field.
  4. Thanks Modeler for your information and great advices.
  5. @Modeler: - Cornell gives me full tuition waiver and only first year fellowship, financial support guaranteed for the whole study duration through RA/TA - Berkeley gives me 4 year fellowships - unless if I receive RAship (which is normally higher than the fellowship) then that fellowship financial support will be waived :D Specifically, for Machine Learning then which university do you reckon?
  6. I was offered by Cornell 24K and NYU 24.5K. Other schools offer about 18K, so yeah, 19K is moderate amount i guess.
  7. Admitted: - UC Berkeley (tuition waver + 18.3K stipend fellowship/9 months - 4 years) - Cornell (29.5K tuition waver + 24k stipend fellowship/9 months - 1st year) - Uni of Washington (tuition waver + 18K stipend fellowship 1st year) - NYU (full tuition waver + 24.5k stipend/9 months - renewable) - Gatech (33k tuition waver + 19.5K stipend/9 months - each year) - Uni of Toronto Waiting: Harvard, UCLA My research interests are Machine learning/Data Mining/AI/Computer Vision/Algorithms/Optimization Any idea where should I go?
  8. Well, it's come to hard time deciding where to go now. I would really appreciate if you guys can give me some advices on where to go: Admitted: - UC Berkeley (tuition waver + 18.3K stipend fellowship - 4 years) - Cornell (29.5K tuition waver + 24k stipend fellowship 1st year) - Uni of Washington (tuition waver + 18K stipend fellowship 1st year) - NYU (full tuition waver + 24.5k stipend/9 months - renewable) - Gatech (33k tuition waver + 19.5K stipend/9 months - each year) - Uni of Toronto Waiting: Harvard, UCLA My research interests are Machine learning/Data Mining/AI/Computer Vision/Algorithms/Optimization Many thanks,
  9. I have received admission from NYU today ^_^ Also got several rejections as well: MIT, UCSD, Princeton.
  10. Today I got 2 emails too, - Cornell University: full support packages for the entire PhD - Stanford University: reject!!! :( I guess the admissions are really competitive this year.
  11. Hi w_guy, it's April 15 - just as other universities I guess.

  13. Thanks guys. Those responses are via email.
  14. Today's a happy day. I have got the first two responses from those grad schools I applied for PhD in Computer Science next fall, both are admitted: - UC Berkeley (admission includes four academic years of financial benefits) - U Washington (3 years of guaranteed funding as TA/RA assistant, tuition waiver, stipend, and health benefits coverage + 1 first year fellowship) Awaiting results from some more unis. Thank TestMagic forum for all the experience/knowledge sharing and suggestions for my PhD applications and GRE test.
  15. Hi guys, I started building a blog that collect all Computer Science PhD Position advertisements from many mailing lists. I hope you guys find this blog useful (most of them are in Europe/Australia though). Cheers ^_^
