  1. Hi Guyz , gave my GRE on 3rd, with a pathetic score in Verbal-310.....:eek::crazy::( I gave Quants offhands.....Let me share my expereince with you... Quants- I just went the through questions , with celerity...those were quite easy to solve....in many of them i even did'nt find it to solve them....I just looked at them and made choices...that's it....and in the last 2 mins I was left with 6 questions....I just clicked and moved.....without even looking into the questions.... and landed upto 750 only... Verbal - The biggest mistake made by me was not to practice the RC's , Sentences,Analogies.....I just went throught the wordlists....and even not completely.....Went through the words(around 2000)..... The main technique to crack is to keep your head cool...like i did'nt do otherwise time will pace like a Bullet, and you would miss the questions like I did in Verbal part also...guessed around 10 questions(in the last 5 minutes)... that was just because i did'nt gave sufficient time for practicing RC's,sentences and Analogies..... In a time span of 25 days ..i gave my GRE.... Now going to give another one in September/October...... I hope my experience will help you guyz....:rolleyes: Best regards Sandeep
  2. Started that,found it is an omen of benign.....thanks...i had got that earlier but thought would be going through barrons....instead of barrons i took some shaekspeares wordlist (1700 words)...so now will be going through these word lists , till date i know around (2500 words)....for the sake ,that my conscious says that around 3000 words should be done before I take powerprep test prior to my actual one...mine is on 3rd lets c..... for Quants i am handling it at my own.... For RC i guess big book should be enough for Senteces....i'll be doing......around 700 sentences-->http://www.gretimes.co.nr/ i guess it should be fine.....for the prepss.... For AWA i'll be readingaround 25 essays and 25 issue arguments....... i guess it should be sufficient to crack it real hard......1500+...hopefully Do apprise me of your cerebration.... Best regards and thanks Sandeep
  3. It is totally based on assumption there is no way out , for this problem ...... otherwise , they should have provided with another option....... f)Information given is incomplete :) or if we can prove these two traingles equal........the only way... Regards Sandeep
  4. Hi rebex , when is your GRE? mine is on 3rd...... started preparing 15 days back...... I am also getting the same score till date...... what you can do is download the shakespeare word list, go through them , http://bdcube.blogspot.com/2007/06/laying-foundation-in-vocabulary.html definetely you can score more than 600+...DEPENDS IF YOUR TEST IS NOT IMPENDING.........(next week)..... Regards Sandeep

    Hi all,

    Hi I am sandeep , preparing for GRE ,I have my GRE on 3rd, going through trepidation , my quant is fine till date, but fearing of verbal part as i have just done with the 25 word lists in barrons, still 5 days....what should i do , should give another 2 days on wordlist.......... Please apprise me about this.... I am seriously bedraggled in word lists........anyone who can embolden or present his/her views about the further scheme/plan........ Help!!!! Best Regards Sandeep
  6. Hi friends, is there any list which we can go through once gone through the word lists(Barrons), as it is vey difficult to remember all the words....... I mean is there any list in which we are asked to fill the correct word........ or to match the mesaning as it can help a lot towards solid learning... My GRE 3rd July, Please help , Best regards and thanks Sandeep
  7. I have not ignored this section that is why wrote, by approximation , the angle of the sector(which we need to know) has nothing to do with the area of traingle...... so by approximation the answer should be.... as there is no way except ,you do lenghty calculations........ the 2nd solution to this problem....... please let me know other solution for this, I am not able to descry the figure, and found it a little ambigous.....i guess we have to reach the best possible answer to get it going.....:hmm:
  8. Answer is 288 There are two ways to get it easy by approximation as angle subtended at the center has nothing to do with the area of traingle , but with the sector.... 1) See it is told that area of shaded region is 80pi and area of circle is pi*(R^2)=pi*100 so the area of traingle is 100pi - 80 pi= 20pie now the two chords are diameters if they intersect, they at the centre and bisect equally and engendering two equal trianlges.... approx(area of one trinagle will be ) 10pi in circle total area is find out by sector ;;;; if we can fine the sector we can get the answer... ratio of the areas=20pi/100pi(100pi is the total area , full circle) that is ratio of angles should be for two triangles (or so called sector) --->360*(2/10)=72 for 1 sector angle should be 360*(1/10)=36 A+B+C+D+2x(say)=180+180 A+B+C+D= 360-2*36 A+B+C+D=288 Hence proved without interring further into the formula..... Other probable solution is Let E be the thrid angle in the traingle 1/2*radius*radiusSinA=area of traingle area of unshaded cirle comes out to be=100pie-80pie=20pie so, E=180-(c+d),180-(a+b) 1/2*100*SinE + 1/2*100*SinE =20pie E comes out to be 39 near about so 360 -(39+39) = 282 (approx) = 288 :):grad:
  9. Hi Rebex Please explain Let's call the point of intersection (2,y), because we know it has to have x cordinate to be 2. It intersects with A, right? we know from the point (3,1) on line B that there must be y/2 = 1/3, and so we know y = 2/3. can you provide figure, it would more clear ....
  10. What is the solution for the first one?can some one explain? My GRe is on 3rd...please help
  11. Please reply with the solution , thanks , howcome?
  12. I guess as per this rule there are three cases if consider 12 Lets say AB =2 BC=12 AC=12(our assumption) 2+12>12 12+12>2 12+2>12 Still this combination satisfies the rule , you mentioned Then why 18?please explain...........
  13. x and y are positive integers Column-A-->If x and y are both less than 5, the probability that (x)(y) > 5 Column B-->If x and y are both less than 5, the probability that x+y
  14. Hi i have some problems! Please provide the easiest solution to these problems 1)Line A has endpoints (2,2) and (2,-3) Line B has endpoints (3,1) and (-3,-1) Line C has endpoints (42,0) and (-100,0) Column A 1.5 units squared Column B The area of the shape that is bounded by lines A, B and C The Quantity in Column A is Greater The Quantity in Column B is Greater The Quantity in Column A and Column B are equal 2)If a triangle has a side of length 2 ft and a side of length 12 inches, then what is a possible length of the third side? a. 2 inches b. 12 inches c. 18 inches d. 36 inches e. 42inches
