:rolleyes:,do people really emphasize a lot on metrics? Is it currently the truth or future trend that both micro and macro are using metrics intensively? (Just asking)

Finance phd rejected by CMU, rejected by northwestern, neither in northwestern's 20+ interview list nor in the 30+ one at cornell, goodbye to the top univs I applied, but I really don't want to spend five years doing theoretical bullshit at non satisfactory places. :(, I am going to end up washing dishes at restaurants.:(:(:(

At least that's my impression after looking at their websites , So many econometric and empirical asset pricing related courses. but that's not what i want as major field. (Like the location of new york and chicago, really disappointed.)
