  1. I need your advice..... I've been doing my research on schools and I have found the main school that I'm going to apply for. I'm in the process of getting my company to fit the 80k tuition/fee bill for the 22-month PT program (it's actually looking good). I'm currently studying for my GMAT. At this point I'm looking for any advice that might be helpful. I have the two reference that I'm going to use picked out, how far in advance should I let them know? Any others apply to UT? I graduated in May06 (BSEE, cum laude) so I will just above the required min. 2 years working exp. when my application goes in. Although, I did work for my current employer (Engineering Consulting) a year and a half (avg. 30 hrs/week) before I graduated with my undergrad. How can I get across that I got great exp. and worked so much before I graduated? As far as my company is concerned, since I worked more than 1000hrs/yr in those years I get credit for a full service year. Helps with my ESOP and has other benifits. What post-grad. extra curr. should I get involved in to help my app? I have already taken (and passed my FE) and I am involved in supporting my undergrad University IEEE program and the PES (Power Engineering Society). Should I list my company training classes on my resume? Most of them qualify for Countining Education Hours (this won't really help me until I get my PE) My Background: White/Male/25 Undergrad GPA: 3.31 (Upper-Division, This is the GPA UT looks at) Undergrad GPA: 3.38 (Last 66 Hrs) Undergrad GPA: 2.96 (Cumulative) Positive slope, first year was not great. GMAT: Studying to make a 800! I'm confortable with anything 700+ Work exp: Electrical Engineering Consulting Firm (1.5yr intern, 1.4yr degreed) Outstanding performance reviews, and moving up quick. Undergrad Extra-curr: Too many to list. Thanks for your help.
  2. I'm looking for some advice on how to proceed...I need a good study plan. Background: I graudated with my BS in Electrical Engineering May06 and I have been working for a Engineering Consulting Firm for almost three years (full time coop to full time employee). Goals: I really want to attend a good MBA program. Longterm I see myself more on the business side than the technical side and honestly that's where the money is at. Looking to score 700+ (this is easy to say now, since I havn't starting studying yet!) Timeline: 6-7 months...I can propbably hold out two semesters (at most) before applying so this is my rough estimate of study time. Material: I just purchased the OG 11th ed. and the Manhattan SC guide. I have a copy of the Kaplan "Higher score on the GMAT" cd a friend gave me, and also the test prep software from the GMAC website. I already know that I am going to need my share of help on the verbal, but most of the theory in the Quan. I should be able to handle with practice. What other study material (or aids) should I purchase? What order should I study the material in? Any help or advice would be appreciated! Regards, Gallo13
