Topped all departments in First Year. Misc. info: * Did a good project under SURGE (Summer Undergraduate Research Grant for Excellence) in IIT Kanpur * Worked in Orkut team in Google Bangalore as a summer intern LoRs from HOD, Google Mentor and another dept HOD I recently have heard that PhD@USC is a rare admit.:( I am confused. Can somebody share any info on this...

I got an admit from UIUC for PhD in CS with aid, after rejects from Stan and CMU. Also got an admit from USC (wasn't sure where I stood, so applied as a safe bet).. Waiting to hear from Caltech and Gatech. My area of interest is Distributed computing. In most of the rankings I have come across, I see UIUC being ranked better than Caltech and Gatech. What do you say?

I got mine too.. 52 correct 17 wrong. Raw score 48. Percentile: 84 :(

I had planned earlier to apply to gatech. Finally shortened my list to the 6. My interest is Distributed Computing. I interned in Google Bangalore for 3 months, and did a good project on Parallel Genetic Algorithms in IIT Kanpur.

Hi everyone. I got 820 (84 %). I am very disappointed by my score. I was expecting to overshoot 90% easily. I am applying to Stan, CMU, UIUC, Caltech, Purdue and USC. I think, I can forget all chances in the top 3 in my list now. Still have reported my scores to all univs.

Hi, INMHO the test was a good mixed bag of questions. I solved all 70 questions, and am confident about atleast 55. In my first pass, I had finished about 45-50 easy questions in 2 hours. That gave me the time and confidence to attack the tougher ones. There were some questions like the "buddy memory allocation", etc which I had only a faint idea, but for the remaining questions I had to guess between two options. I am desperately waiting for the results. I guess my AGRE score would improve my chances at the top 10..
