  1. Thank you very much CalmLogic While registering for General GRE i have selected 4 institutions and checked both general and subject test scores to report. So they send subject scores along with my general gre score to the four universities i mentioned on test day right? Thanks in advance f2003800
  2. Hi, I have appeared for subject test in CS last year, got 730/52% . I registered for this year nov 8th test, but i dont have the confidence that my score will improve significantly. I didn't get enough time to revise all the material. I have read the cancellation policy on ETS site... here it goes Test Center Procedures and Regulations-Subject Canceling Your Scores At the end of the test, you may cancel your scores by filling in the appropriate ovals and signing your name in the appropriate place on your answer sheet. This is the only time your scores can be canceled. Canceled scores cannot be reinstated, and no refunds will be issued. Institutions will not receive any information about your canceled scores or about any previous scores you may have on file. I want to report only my previous year score. Can i appear for the test and cancel? They mentioned that institutions do not receive canceled and previous scores on file. What should i do? What will happen if i do not attend test? I want to solve the paper and dont want it to be evaluated/reported to any univ.... Somebody pls help me out......... Thanks f2003800

  6. Hi, I agree with CalmLogic. Last year i appeared for GRE CS test in november. After the test i felt the paper was easy, but when i got my score i was disappointed. I scored meager 730 which is 50%. I answered 40/70 correct, at the same time i answered many wrong so my score reduced to around 33. I didn't expect much questions from computer networks, but test paper has 3-4 questions which i haven't seen in practice papers. I wasn't strong in automata and computer architecture. Now its becoming difficult for me to manage time for job, applying to universities and preparing for toefl. Now i need time to revise all the subjects. You never know how much you score in gre cs in advance. Regards, f2003800
  7. Hi For 2nd question answer is O(n^2) try to draw line so that you maximize number of partitions........... n Rn 0 1 1 1+1 2 1+1+2 3 1+1+2+3 4 1+1+2+3+4 so Rn=1+(sum of n numbers) =1+n(n+1)/2 so Rn is O(n^2) 840 is an excellent score..........Keep posting problems... the more you solve the more you get! Regards, f2003800
  8. Text segment of P begins at 0x77E80000 in P's Virtual address space. It is mapped to 0x01000000 in debuggers virtual address space. Debugger placed a breakpoint at 0x77E81234. This location in debuggers adress space is 0x1000000+offset where offset is 0x77E81234-0x77E80000 = 0x00001234. Since the debugger is in its WRITE operation, it must have mapped page with READ/WRITE access. Regards, f2003800

    2 questions?

Solution for 2nd problem: |q-5|=3 is true when q-5=3 or -(q-5) = 3 solving for q we get 8 and 2 similarly solving for p yields 6 and -8/3 the minimum possible value for q/p is obtained when q holds 2 and p holds -8/3 which evaluates to -3/4. if q takes 8 q/p becomes -1/3 however -3/4 so none of the above is the right choice.
  10. on the whole i need 1400 in gre. i get 800 from quant but i need 600 more from verbal. I studied many words and i remember too. but somehow i just couldn't make it. I will focus on extensive reading. it may help.
  11. Hi All, I really dont understand why i got 320. 2 months back i started my prep for verbal. Even if one answer questions randomly he/she gets 400 easily. I prepared 3 hrs for quant,i got 800 and its level is more than what i have seen in powerprep. 2 months hard work on verbal didn't fructify today. I used to get 500 in verbal in other tests. I didn't expect such a meager score. I just can't agree with that score. Why is that god didn't bless me with verbal? someone plz tell me how can i get good score in gre, sorry verbal... for me gre consists of verbal only. :( :( :(
  12. T(n+1)=T(n)+3n = T(n-1)+3(n+(n-1)) =T(n-2)+3(n+(n-1)+(n-2)) =T(n-(n-1))+3(n+(n-1)+(n-2).....+2+1) =7+3(sum of first n numbers) =7+3(n(n+1)/2) which is O(n^2) you are correct. no doubt in that.
  13. can you pls post question here. i dont have big book
  14. let soyabeans cost 4$ per kg lets say 4kg's are produced in the year X so in year Y as per given data soyabeans produced is 5 and cost per kg is 3 so ((15-16)/16)100 roughly equal to 6% decrease by 6%
