  1. Not that I know... by the way, what makes you ask this question? did you see or hear it somewhere?
  2. Visit your state board of pharmacy website: https://fortress.wa.gov/doh/hpqa1/hps4/pharmacy/default.htm Or call them at:Phone: 360/236-4825 They will answer your question.
  3. Read them carefully and fully understand Fed pharmacy law. It's an easy but very tricky exam.. Good luck.

  7. It all depends on your state board, I would recommend you call your state board of Pharmacy and ask them the question instead of relying on general answers, you'd better go to the source. Good. Luck.
  8. I personally strongly recommend Walgreens because I think they have the best computer system and organizational structure I have ever seen.
  9. 1) You are not giving enough info for your diabetic question, so it cannot be answered as it is. 2) Patient receives: 150 ml X 24= 3600 ml in 1day half normal saline contains: 0.45 g of NaCl per 100 ml Your total NaCl is: 0.45X3600/100 = 16.2 g Meq = (16.2 X 1000)/ 58.5 = 276.9.......... ~ 277 Meq If you do not understand private email me. Good luck.
  10. 15---------------- 7.7 -----------12-------- 4.3---------------- 3 ------------------------ ---------------10.7 Parts in total Your answer is therefore (7.7/10.7)*100= 71.9% or rounded up ....= 72% Do you understand?, if not send me a private message. Good luck.
  11. The answer is no. But, depending on the state you may be required to take an English proficiency test before you can be licensed, I know the state of Maryland requires it even from American citizens. Good luck.

  14. Do some litterature search on the company, know a bit about their history, look clean and confident but do not try to look or behave too smart, be natural, normal and moreover be positive. Be prepared to answer questions such as: 1) Why did you choose this company? 2) What are your future plans, how and where do you see yourself in 10 year? 3) What are your career goals 4) Tell me about your strenghts and weaknesses 5)How do you work under pressure? 6)Do you prefer to work alone or as a team member? Try not to talk about salary ...let them come up with an offer... you can always check how much interns in the company and in the area make and compare, if you think it's way below that, you may mention it. 7) Be honest about what you know and don't know but always add that you adapt very easily and fast. 8) DO NOT forget to send an email or a thank you card to the pesron who interviewed you for the opportunity they gave you to appear for an interview. This what I can think of for now...I hope it will help you. Good luck.
  15. I thinkthe in onformation you find in APhA book is enough for TPN formulations, another good source is the Kaplan review book. Know incompatibilities in TPN preps and also how to calculate calories fron fat, carb, proteins, and also be familiar with nitrogen content of proteins. For compounding i think you should know the role of different ingrdients...cellulose....know also different preservatives and their roles... If I were you i would spend some time on sterility particularly filters sizes...use of gas, dry air, chemical for sterilization and in what type of compound to use them. Good luck.
  16. In my opinion, if you do and clearly understand all the math exercises in APhA and A&L, you must be good to go. But, remember, those 2 books do not teach you stat, o, for stat, in my humble opinion, you do not need to know more than basic concepts such as mean, median, sd,variance ,null hypothesis with type alfa and beta errors and cofidence level, cross over and parallel studies, correlation factor,t-test,and chi-square. I had only 2 questions on kintics, theyr easy and straight forward. There a on screen calculator but my prometrics center provided me with a small calculator similar the one on screen, it helped me a lot because i did not have to key in using the mouse.... and frankly i am old fashioned and i tend to stick to simple things. Good luck guys.
  17. A friend on the forum sent me a private email, I am sharing with you my answers since i think they might benefit you. I am also keeping the person's identity confidential because it was a private message. I hope she or he will not be upset, we are just trying to help each other here. I would like to ask couple of questions to you. 1. Among all those 185 questions, how many do u think you have answered correctly. Just want to know for my exam. It is not easy to tell how many questions you answered correctly because sometimes you have to guess and you may guess correctly. What i can say is that I had to guess about 30 to 35 questions. The rest, i was confident. One thing you CANNOT mess up with is calculation, you either pass or fail based on your performance in math. I think it made me pass. 2. How important is the dosage? Dosage form is important and patient dose is also very important, they can ask you in a profile for instance a patient is taking X drug po but since he is vomiting, what other form can he use?, you have to konw if the drug comes in suppository or IV or SC or any other form. You may also be asked to adjust dose if it's not sufficent in treatment and so on 3. What about OTC, I considere myself very weak in this part, because during my internship I could not get a chance to learn about OTC. Were there many questions on OTC? OTC are very very important now in the test because of the selfmedication crisis currently going on....focuse on the forms of cough medicine, different types of robitussin....etc. 4. Anything that's not in APHA, you would like to recommend to keep an eye on, for recent test taker like me? APhA is very poor in stats, you need to learn it from some other textbooks... in my case it was not a problem because I have a Master in biostatistics and epidemiology...you can google the terms in stats and learn online. 5. Any advice to me, if there's sth missing in your last post? Sleep very well the night before the test, stop studying around 5:00 PM, you may think you forgot everything but don't worry, it will come back to you. Make sure you nail the first 5 questions, take your time with the calculation and do not panic if you think a math question is driving you crazy, stop doing it and think abou something very positive and start again. Do not waste too much time on weird questions, make an educated guess and move on....there a a bunch of dummy questions. Good luck.
  18. I had approx. 30 math questions including statistics. They were very very close to APhA book and A&L. Frankly they were challenging but easy to do once you understand what they ask. look, look, look, look and loooook !!! at the units very very careful, they can be very tricky.
  19. Hello guys! As promised here is my contribution to the forum, I am trying here to give back to you guys what you and others have given to me through continuous guidance and help with answering sometimes tricky questions. My exam as I previously stated was everywhere and I truly lost hope at the end of the exam but one thing was very clear and sure, I was 2000% confident that i did not miss a single calculation even though they were getting more and more challenging throughout the test. I had about 10 different patients profiles including a little 2 y.o girl :). 1) I used APhA review book, Kaptest and Kaplan Q-bank, some CDs from Mannan and A&L yellow and white book. I only focused on diabetes, cancer, HIV, anti-infective drugs, HTN, and asthma. I spent a whole lot of time on those topics, reviewd them 2 to 3 times. I took a quick look at other topics such phamacokinetics. **** The past exam questions cannot be discussed. It violates the copyright law. ***** For now this is what I can remember, please feel free to ask any question you as in mind but please remember I cannot go deep into specifics because I signed an agreement with NABP not to disclose the questions. Good luck to all of you guys!
  20. Hi guys! Just found out from my state board's website that my NAPLEX nightmare is over!!. I passed with 125 ... I first thought it was a mistake, I checked 5 times, asked some friends to read what i am reading. I thought i miserably failed.... but to score this high!!!, something must be wrong with this exam, just unbelievable. Now I have to focus on the law exam, another big piece. Now i can comfortably share my NAPLEX experience with you. Please allow me 24 hours to put everything togeter and send you a very comprehensive summary of my exam.
  21. newfpgee Nobody can tell you for sure what type of question you will have on the NAPLEX exam and it's very risky to listen to any advices limiting or deciding what you need to learn for the exam. My advice is: know the 200 most important drugs and learn every you can on top of that. Remember: this is a computer adaptive exam, meaning the computer tests you and you will never have the same exam twice or similar to anyboy else's exam... that is precisely why people can fail the exam once, twice or more... Good luck.
  22. The test weird, plenty of patients profiles but most questions did not require reading the patient profile, a lot of strange questions, you either know the answer or you don't. My test was very very diversified, it covered almost everything. Only God knows how in the world i did. Plesae let me get some rest and I will give you more details if you so wish.
  23. Dear lighthouse: I remember a while ago someone had the same problem. If you have a degree in pharmaceutical sciences or in pharmacology, you cannot be considered a pharmacist. I do not know what degree you specifically obtained, if it does not say Pharmacist then do not waste your time, NABP will never grant you a certificate. If, on the other hand it says you are a pharmacist and you can prove that you were authorized to practice in your country (i.e. license to practice), then you should fight your case to the finish line. For your information, any institution has the right to catch its mistake and take corrective action. You may have escaped the first passage through the net but the system ultimately detected its mistake. Even if you had passed the NAPLEX and obtained your license, they could have revoked it. It's like you go to the bank with a 100 $ check and the teller deposits 1000 $ to your account, the bank take its money back as soon as it realizes its mistake. I hope you are a genuine pharmacist and deserve your certificate and I wish you all the best, if you fight hard you will get it...if you really deserve it. Good luck.
  24. Brothers and sisters, in a few hours I will go for the biggy!....I will let you know how the test went... In the meantime, please say a prayer for me.
