  1. Verb tense... 'Last year' is the time frame, so 'amount' should be past tense. 'Less than' is the proper idiom, so C&D are out... Leaving A.
  2. C... pronoun 'its' refers to antecedent 'Prakta'... Now, btwn C&E... 'more apparent than' is the proper idiom; not 'more apparent as'
  3. If there were 50 members, and each contributed $12, you'd have $600, which is $1 too high... You need 1 less member in order to hit the $599 mark.. The additional $11 can be distributed amongst the 49 members since $12 is the LEAST amt contributed.
  4. A... Use the sum of interior angles formula... (n-2)x180=1440... Solve for n (number of sides)... 180N=1800... n=10
  5. Can be rewritten as $87.5=7% of what #? Whatever the outcome is, add it to $1000 to get the total value. 87.5=.07x... x=1250... 1250+1000=2250.. C.
  6. C.... The key is that all students were enrolled in a course, which means that none were in the 'neither' category.
  7. did you finish strong or were you left guessing at the end?
  8. Well done, dude... I think that timing is the one area that I have neglected over the years, and it has punished me severely... Specifically quant.. I have found that if you have a difficult time sticking to the 2 min time limit per question during the test, take a MGMAT test, and instead of selecting 75 mins for the entire section, select 120 seconds per question.. This will sort of give you an idea of what it takes to answer each q in the allotted time period. Granted, you will spend a little more or a little less time per question depending on the difficulty, it was truly an eye opener for me. For the longest, I couldnt figure out why I was consistently hitting 570-580 every time in practice, but when i was forced to move on via this method, my quant score surged and put me in the 640-660 range consistently on Manhattan tests. As you practice under these time constraints, you begin to mentally create an internal stopwatch that will give you an idea of timing throughout the section... It is absolutely imperative that you finish strong and are not forced to guess on problems that you can answer under normal conditions. Best guess, and keep it movin'... But i digress... Well done, OP.. I am inspired
  9. You can buy all 8 off of me in 4 weeks after i take and get an 800 on my GMAT...
  10. Awesome.. So those prime boxes actually come in handy, huh? Thanks a ton for this.. I love how MGMAT sections out the OG problem sets in terms of topics, so that you can better assess your weaknesses; I am learning more about my shortcomings this way. Thanks dude... 4th time's a charm!
  11. Canadian, Not to jack the thread, but did you find any of the other Manhattan books useful other than SC? Am I wasting my time making flashcards for all of the key concepts from each of the books?
  12. im joking.. great score.. im just bitter
  13. a) x^-1/3= 1/x^1/3 b) x^-2 Together, all we have determined is that x can either be + or -... Seems that both are insuff.. Ans E.
  14. Why did you arbitrarily add 7 to each side?
  15. It seems like we would have to know the weighted avg of the total cost. St 1 tells us that X increased 13% in January, and the stem tells us that variable cost decreased 5% in Jan... but we dont know how those percentages are distributed, so we cant really determine the overall %change. -Insuff. St 2 tells us the ratio of fixed to variable cost, but says nothing about the % change of the fixed cost. -Insuff. 1+2--We have the ratio of fixed to variable & the % change of both costs so that should be sufficient to answer, right? C? What's the OA?
  16. Good point... 'it' could logically either refer to the Kennedy oval office or to the recording system, but I think that this is more of a 'so... that' question. The selections for this sc question are pretty ridiculous anyway...
  17. Your logic seems correct.. 'Although' is a subordinate conjunction, therefore we need a pronoun after the comma... Not another conjunction. E cant be right because the subordinate clause suggests that the chain itself required the recall of the car, which is illogical. D seems like the only one that makes sense to me...
  18. So you had no idea that a 780+ was difficult to obtain until after the exam? Interesting... Awesome score, nonetheless
  19. Ahhh... 2 finite sets... I smell it.. Thanks, Teleboy
  20. A? Statement 1- 32-36 can all be expressed as the product of 2 integers greater than 1... Suff. Statement 2-Odd integers 5 & 7 cannot be expressed as the product of 2 integers both greater than 1, whereas 9 & 15 can.. Ins.
  21. so wait... how is the outcome of D different than E?
  22. But the answer is E... You guys are saying that piS(2r+s) = piS(2r-s), because I am getting 2r+s also.. If so, how does that work? Thx
  23. Interesting.. thx.. I sometimes fail to see the multiple events in the past.
  24. E is the only one that keeps it parallel.. B doesnt maintain the structure, and 'including' is incorrect.
