  1. Thank you so much for sharing all this valuable info and thanks for your time. I find you very resourceful person. Awesome! How do you find those on line resources? How did you buy:Manan Shroff state law online practice test? If it`s not a secret:)
  2. Thank you, for your help and soon reply!I` will start the registration process.
  3. Thank you so much! I will start my regiostration with NABP first. Thank you, guys! I`m a bit nervous, but I guess, that`s normal:)
  4. I`m in VA as well. I`m getting ready for Naplex right now, but I will have to take MPJE withing a month. Did you try patients profiles and 1000 Q& Answers by Lange? By the way, did you clear your Naplex???
  5. I`m preparing to register to take test in a couple of weeks. I was wondering if main categories still are HB,CVD, asthma and diabetes? I understand that it varies, but is that true that those are major categories????
  6. Hi , guys. I`m confused what do I do after I register with the state board for the Naplex? Do I have to register with NABP and Pearson, or just Pearson????Please, help!!!
  7. Hi, I`m going through my second month of internship at WalMart. Same thing: No contract, get paid $15/hour for 3 first months, then supposingly they will increase to 38. Seems kind of disorgonized. I`m just waiting untill my fisrt 3 months are past and hope to get paid better. Work climate is OK.
  8. Check out links on the page 2 of this link!:)
  9. Thanks Lexipharm, Mechanism wasn`t clear for me of how BB mask hypoglycemia. Also from APhA it seems that Thiazide diuretics, Corticosteroids, furosemide and others may cause hyperglycemia and BB only mask symptoms of hypoglicemia. So they basically also rise blood glucose, correct? and the difference is in palpitations and tremor of BB?
  10. Thanks Lexipharm for your feed back! I will check the WebSite you gave me. thanks and good luck. How are your studies, by the way? Hope you are doing well. I`m still waiting on some conpanies to reply, but WalMart seems to be the best deal for me here as well with $15 for the first 3 month. I`m still waiting on the local pharmacist who may need an intern and pharmacist as he has new store opening in 6 months> We`ll see.:)
  11. Thank you lexipharm. I started diabetis also. I`m a little confused concerning B-blockers use and them masking the symptoms of diabetis. OK. we know that in DM we have HYPERGLYCEMIA-too much glucose in a blood which eventually excretes through the kidney and that`s when we get symptom: glucose in urine. Well, question is B-blockers as well as thiazide diuretics than should lower the blood glucose in order to mask that symptom; however, in seems from books that they increase blood glucose. CONFUSING:) What do you , guys, think? Please, clarify! Thanks in advance.
  12. Thanks! I`m still negotiating. I`ll keep you posted. How is your internship goes?
  13. Thank you guys. Well, I`m still negotiating and looking into privite owned pharmacies as well. I`ll keep you posted.
  14. Yes, B-blockers elevate levels of triglycerides, cholesterol and LDL , decrease HDL and levels should be monitored constantly. By which mechanism ... I'll have to look into that. Also they cause hypoglucemia which may mask diabetes.:)
  15. Hi Lexipharm, I'm in Fredericksburg area. I`m thinking about joining Walmart if they will offer enough. By the way, how much did you sign up for and did you have to sign a contract? Another question is about the sites that you mentioned with the pharmacists. Can you post those along with the cources? How much do they cost and what are you studing? I never heard about anything like that. Which country are you from? I'm from Russia. Concerning 1000 hours of internship. I graduated in 2002 and I believe till 2003 graduates have to do 1000 hours , those who garduated after have to do 1500 hours. Thanks for sharing the experience! -
  16. Hi Lexipharm, I wanted to share this link with you. It helps me not to get bored with just reading so I can practice. Check it out!Enjoy!:) Medical Pharmacology: Table_of_Contents
  17. Which book did you use for the profiles? Are you confident with calculations? Thank you!
  18. Did you take an offer? tell us more about signing bonus! For how long did you have to sign a contract and how much did they offer? Most importantly which state you are in????? Thanks for sharing!
  19. Are you confident with the name brands of the medicines? I`m studying Cardiovascular Deseases and I`m going carzy trying to memorize them all as questions in NAPLEX use the name brands. How do you do on those?
  20. ACE are used in CHF and Hypertension treatment. They decrease fluid retension and peripheral resistance by blocking the conversion AT1 into AT II as we all know:) ACE should NOT be used if patients have renal artery stenosis. Renal insufficiency occur only when predisposing factors are present and patients should be constantly tested for those. Renal function (creatinine clearance) should be monitored,Potassium levels. Patients with renal insufficiency have higher risk of getting neutropenia, proteinuria and renal impairment, that`s why patients should be monitored for renal function. However, ACE positive effects with relatively least of the side effects ( constant monitoring on renal function) are indicated in patients with"compeling indications". Basically, as with all medicine there are always side effects and we need to figure out which benefits will outweight the side effects with the monitoring. overall, I believe, ACE do have least side effects exept for cough, skin rash and others that are similar to all hypotensives( vertigo, dizziness, fatigue, first-dose hypotension..) Tell me what you think.
  21. I am in Va and no I didn`t take NAPLEX . Here I can take it only after internship. How about you?
  22. Hi guys, I heard about signing bonus on this forum. After we get our license. What do you know about that?
  23. Hi Hygian, After my interview DM told me that he had to talk to his boss and than make me an offer, but he said it was about 2/3 of pharmacist salary. Well, when he got back to me he said they will pay me $15 for 3 month and then 2/3 and i would have to sign a contract for a year after I get my license.( I rushed with the post). Now I `m in process of getting a Green Card, so I do not need visa from Walmart and I worked for 3 years in my country. I do not know how to negotiate since I didn`t receive any other phone calls, but I think what they offer me is not acceptable. What do you think???:)
  24. Hi guys, Is anybody is here in VA going through internship????
