Guys, can u educate me abt this interdisciplinary info sec program at purdue ..... there is a lot of confusion abt the dept under which it comes and the required courses to complete this .... the admission requirements also states that i need to submit some A-level paper or something like that .... btw, the most pertinent question is whether i can get it... my profile being....gre->1320, toefl->102, btech->76% class 4th, GATE-CS 98.8 percentile....1 yr exp with IBM ... can someone throw some light on the issues i mentioned ...

i would also like to ask one more thing. is JNTU regarded on par with the likes of delhi,mumbai,pune,anna uniersities ???

i tried posting in my earlier thread but all my replies vanished mysteriously !!! i would like to continue my applications saga here and looking forward to your help.... as a short recap... 1.gre score - 770q,550v...1320 2.toefl - 102 3.btech in cse from an unknown college affiliated to JNTU....76% ( topper's around 81%....i am class 4th out of 60 odd students)... 4.1 yr exp with IBM as an application developer.... my univs list :- 1.columbia 2.usc 3.nyu 4.asu 5.ncsu 6.University of Florida,Gainsville 7.NEU 8.university of cicinnati 9.university of illinios at chicago 10.university of Rochester 11.michigan state university 12.Syracuse university Are they the right mix of safe/mod/ambi for me ??? Please comment. Thanks.

just wanted to know whether my university JNTU is regarded low when compared to to others like mumbai,pune,delhi univs.....or r they treated the same ????

please dissect my laundry list of universities that i have posted..... i feel there is no zing in my application.....a nice,simple,decent,docile application just waiting to be thrashed....i guess since my gre ain't strong, i need to look for univs that concentrate more on acads like btech %.....

MDK dude, are u referring to univ of michigan,ann arbor ??? or michigan state univ ??......i will definitely consider both of them.....

@ CalmLogic....thanks for such an informative post.... really got no words to appreciate it. I would love to do what you said but unfortunately i am stuck at office from 10 to 6 :-( . Infact, i never prepared for gre. and regarding AGRE CS, its long way off...approx 9 months !!!! i dont think i will be able to sustain the level of motivation i have now to prepare diligently. Paucity of time and commitments to workplace only make it harder....... btw...i found a couple of universities but i am not sure about their rankings and whether i have a chance in them....can u plz me out with them... 1.Clemson university 2.University of Florida,Gainsville 3.university of cicinnati 4.university of illinios at chicago 5.university of Rochester 6.Kansas state university 7.university of Utah 8.university of Texas at Austin 9. Thanks for the comments guys. @CalmLogic.....You are absolutely right...cost of CMU-INI program is absurd...45k per sem is horrendous.... I believe i can manage the USC , columbia and Upenn. But i have some doubts about the quality of the program offered by univ of chicago. I think that the course is open to everyone and moreover, its specifically targeted for those who don't have a background in cs. Won't that dilute my degree ?? But the most pertinent question is whether i have a chance there or not.... is 770Q,550V enough ??? could you pls estimate my chances in the following ... 1.columbia 2.Upenn 3.usc 4.arizona state univ 5.new york univ 6.ncsu 7.Texam A&M college station 8.north-eastern univ please modify my list as much as possible .. :-) i have heard that the probaility of getting an admit in spring is comapatively higher than fall !!! can you please clarify this.... yup dude...i am from india...hyderbad to be precise.... and regarding the fees...yes i can pay upto $50k...i guess most univs come under this..... but i am not sure about where to apply.....plz help me yaar

hi guys, hope everyone is doing great here.... as the title suggests i bombed the gre today.....big time...:wallbash: my first section was math, and i noticed that the questions were progressively getting easier and so thought that as usual i was messing up everything....and ,in a fit of madness, decided to spend more time on each question as a result of which i ended up spending like 3 mins on last 6 questions.....yes, u read it just right...last 6 questions in 3 mins !!!!!!!!!!! when the verbal section started next, i was distraught. i had lost all motivation after the demoralizing math....so i attempted the questions with the disastrous quant at the back of my mind....so i expected it to be a gonner as well..... but suprise suprise....at the end when the screen flashed 770,550 i couldn't believe my eyes...for a sec i was elated...but the very next moment i recalled how i used to score 1400's in powerpreps and had the audacity to harbor ambitions to score 1500 !!! now i am really back to earth....hail gre ...hail unpredictability ...hail bad luck !!!!!! after intial thoughts of reappearing for gre....sanity prevailed over me ...and i have now reconciled with my score...( Whatever happens, happens for our own good....).... now comes the torturous time to select the univs....and i require ur help in this regard. I hope ur not irritated yet after reading my nonsense till now....coz there is more to come....:) summarizing my "profile" :- 1. gre 1320....770+550 2.toefl 102 3.btech in cse with 76% with no history of backlogs....from a non-nondescript college....(topper around 80-81...i guess that translates my gpa to around 3.5 ??? plz help me on this) 4. class 4th out of some 60 odd students.... 5. read above four points....;-) with the above 5 points i am mulling over the following universities for SPRING 2009.... 1.usc 2.nyu 3.ncsu 4.asu can u plz expand my list to around 8 univs ...basically i am not in dire need of aid....but will definitely grab it if it comes my way.... thanks once again for going through my post....or an editorial ??:hmm:
