  1. Thanks ambreenjava for your answer but still few things reamin unanswered. 1) As far as i've checked in dictionary, TINKER means to do something clumsily, unskillfully or an itinerant worker. So I just want to know relation between ADJUST and TINKER,though I agree with you that SCRIBBLE is to write clumsily. But i'm not able to get the bridge between question pair not the answer pair. 2) In second one I wanted to know why can't the answer be DEVIOUS:CLEVER bcoz if I consider the bridge to be synonym pair than devious:clever are synonym too like repugnant and disagrreable. But yeah if I consider "extreme" to be the bridge than your explanation is right.Thanks. 3) Explanation for third question is not at all clear. How is forensic related to debate??? First please tell me the relation betwwen question pair. Once again thanks a million for your time & efforts..........
  2. Plz can anybody explain the bridge of given analogy questions??? These are from Barron's model test 5 and section 6. 1. ADJUST:TINKER A) invent: design. B) imrove: hamper C) throw:hurl D) analyze:repair E) write: scribble Answer is (E) 2. UPROARIOUS:AMUSING a) treacherous:steadfast b) tumultous:windy c) menacing:aghast d) repugnant:disagrreable e) devious:clever ANSWER IS (D). Here I want to know why can't the answer be (e) bcoz devious means cunning or clever. 3. FORENSIC: DEBATE a) empirical:arguement b) judicious:law c) histrionic:theater d) sophomoric: humor e) philosophic: temparament Answer is © thanks in anticipation to all who'll devote their time...:)
  3. Agree with dave except 9th one.I think answer for VOLCANO:LAVA is AVALANCHE: SNOW. please post the right answer irumbu...
  4. great...congrats to you....so inspite of all difficulties you managed to get a good score..yup :) I think there is obvious reason for you to be happy.........[bounce] [banana] So all the best for application & do share your experience with us....may your dad get well soon too.........bye.
  5. Same as dave n rumen but about the last one can anybody explain why can't the answer be occupied:engaged???
  6. Hey.. just keep your cool....i'm also in the same boat..started very late n I think there r many like us....so just don't think negatively. Also in this forum try to read experiences of other's of their exam that can help you a lot.Read how to go for GRE by Flounder n others that will exactly answer your query for quick preparation.Don't worry you'll do well. All the best.
  7. Yup dave is right...Something ephemeral(short-lived) is improbable to abide(remain)and similarly someone intransigent(irreconcilable or uncompromising) is improbable to yeild(abandon).:)
  8. thanks a million nilanjana.....specially for the information about transcripts evaluation.I checked the site but there's a fee of $ 75..is this the site you told or anything else??? I'm really worried about my evaluation bcoz without that everything else is just meaningless...But anyways thanks a lot to you.I'll be in touch with you.
  9. :DOh ..that's fine irumbu....so you yourself don't know the answer ..where from you got the question??? I'm just wondering why everybody is thinking in the line of answer being example of appandage.....Just forget what an appandage is or what it's dictionary meaning is.....actually the analogy question pair has a relation of a word & it's example.Let me say it this way.. if I have to explain what an electrical equipment means then I can give example of Heater, fan, bulb etc.So similarly here tail is an example for appandage as molar is an example for tooth...About other choices i've already given my reasons before...so that's my point of view....donno knw right or wrong...u guys tell me if my logic sounds ok to you.....:D
  10. Hey irumbu.... I think you posted this question so you know the answer.....:)..n about me i've already written that © i.e molar:tooth is the answer in my opinion. And To me skeleton means the bones of human or animals considered as whole that means the whole framework of the body n therefore ribs are just part of skeleton.....correct me if i'm wrong....n please plz tell us the answer...:D
  11. I think answer is ©... See..TAIL can be considered an example of appandage, that means key is a word n it's example. So now looking at options... Is lobe an example of ear -NO...IT'S PART OF EAR. Rib is part of skeleton and fingernail is part of hand or finger ....so now it comes to only two options molar:tooth and toupee:hair. Now among these too..i think molar can be given as an example of tooth and toupee is more an example for wig or false hair...So I bet on ©... :D so that's my explanation...not sure whether right or wrong????
  12. Hello everyone... I just want to know about my chances to get admission in MS comp. science course. About me first thing that i'm not a computer graduate but have around 4 yrs. of working experience in SW field in India. My bachelor degree is in science(3 yrs.) with mainly biology, chemistry n physics subjects(no maths)...n then I did comp. diploma from state recognised institute for one n half yr. And my Bachelor degree is from a national open university of india(that's IGNOU for guys who know about it with 78% total..).Also I discontinued my studies after high school so I have few gap years between high school n college.I gave my GRE 6 months back n got Q710 V600 but not satisfied with score ..so going to give it again in dec.The only favourable thing is that i'm going to be in USA in dec. on H4 visa. And I think bcoz of that unlike other international students I don't have to worry about visa rejection, even after getting admission in any good or bad school in USA.So that's all about my background n now I want to know 1. First thing...is my education enough to compensate for the 4 yrs education requirement for admission in graduate courses in USA or not??? 2. Is my subjects of bachelor course going to affect negatively?? 3. Is the gap years between high school n college going to affect negatively?? 3. How much positive impact my work experience can give n how can I make maximum use of that. 4. I would be mainly intrested in Univ. of Minnesota.. so if anybody knows about that then please please please help... 5. can I apply to universities with my pending GRE score?? oh god... there r so many things to ask .......i'm sorry if you find my problems frustrating but I hope i'll come out with flying colors....ofcourse with god's n everybody's help......Plz help me out..... Thanks in antcipation....

  15. Hmmmm...a difficult one...can you tell me where did you find this question. in my opinion the correct answer should be (B). Explanation: About the general meaning of the sentence, 1. It talks about a society that worships efficiency i.e OUTPUT. 2. The decisions suited for this kind of society are difficult to be made by a sensitive n idealistic person (here keep in mind that an idealistic person is one who sticks to his ideas n not practical in approach) so now based on above assumptions, 2 questions come in to mind. 1. What kind of society worship efficiency?? Answer may be PRAGMATIC,COMPETITIVE & MODERN. 2.What kind of decisions r difficult for a sensitive n idealistic person to make?? Answer would be PRACTICAL. And looking in to second blank HARDHEADED means practical, evenhanded means impartial & dysfunctional means malfunctional. :D.....SO WHAT DO you SAY????
