  1. I agree - they referred to drugs by brand more often than generic. I got my score by letter about 2.5 weeks after the date of my exam. I passed. =) I think it also depends on what state you're in though. Good luck!

    Pre-Naplex

For me, the Pre-NAPLEX was not a "preparation", but more of a possible indication of how I would do on the real thing. I made sure I was very familiar with the material before I signed up and took the Pre-NAPLEX online, just so I could see how well I would do on it. (They give a range of scores where you may fall if you take it many times.) I got my score for the NAPLEX, and it was within 10 points of the Pre-NAPLEX that I took. It might be different for others, though. But it did relieve a lot of stress I had regarding the NAPLEX because I could see what kind of questions were being asked, and the format of the questions. I'm sorry you guys had such a bad experience, though. And good luck on the NAPLEX if you haven't taken it yet!
  3. I started off in a hospital as a tech, and it was a bit challenging for me to find a retail tech job. I think for me, one of the drawbacks was that I was only familiar with generic names in the hospital, whereas you have to know both brand and generic in a retail setting. As a pharmacist, though, I don't think it is too difficult to find a job in a retail setting. Also depends on where you're located though.
  4. I studied off of the APhA book, and I honestly felt like that book was sufficient enough for me to take the exam. Make sure you focus on other diseases aside from the major disease states (HTN, DM, etc). GOOD LUCK, and let us know how it went!
