  1. 10×24 12×20 15×16 8×30 24×10 20×12 16×15 30×8 Answer is the max of all options i.e. 8
  2. A is good. B has two problem 1) considered as - incorrect 2) placement of modifier the - you can cannot set free more slaves than total number. 3) c, D and E - by introducing and, all assume that both are two different actions.
  3. thanks Everyone but I have decided to give it one more shot....And Quant was easy....stick to the basics....I am a not a CAT guy but still stay that it revolves around the basic. The First question I got was as easy as this one Find X:- (x+3)^2 = x^2 + 9 In fact it was this only...I remember it correctly.. Verbal was Like looong CRs...I got more than 5 CRs 5 sentences long.....and all data gathering types....no boldface...SC was Fundooo....if you have practised SC on TM...you would find no problem...Learn Idioms....Suject Verb Agreement...Which/That....Parallelism.....I mean you can easily figure out as to whats the trick in the SC... I got typically very short sentences...Just 2 lines..RC was 2 short passages....2 long ones.....topices ranged from science to chemical and Law.. Hope it helps
  4. F**K Me man...cant get to any good skool with this....Even texas A&M mays business school asks for a 4.5 year work ex. with 660 GMAT. I am just 2 years, have to get above 700 anyhow
  5. and one more thing fellas.. Just work hard....seriously it pays...
  6. Guys here it Goes My prep time was 2 months, My Verbal was totally screwed, not a good guy in Maths as well, hence I had to work on almost everythin. I started with CR, and gained a decent strike rate of it. SC was good, TM and 800bob and of course thanks very much. RC was never really problem. Quant was somethin I worried about, but Maku, Retake GMAT, Krrovidy and lots many made it look easier. I had given just one GMAT Prep scored 710 a week b4 the exam. On D-day, cruised with Essays, they were both from 800score.com book. quant was ok, Although no probability, AP/GP, and TSD. a lot of questions on inequality and stats. Percentage and numbers. work hard on these parts. Finished this section with 2 mins left. ofcourse Co-ordinate geometry is a must with the Circle and traingle questions of Geometry. Verbal was hell, to start off I got 3 Long CRs at once and they consumed almost 10 mins. then a big big RC on some biology mitochondria types folowed with 4 questions. SC was the scoring part. Believe me guys SC is the scoring part on verbal, as other parts are all your instincts. I got 4 RCs out of which 2 were very long and 2 were just 2 paragraphs. I am giving again but after some time now, I am devastated as I was hoping for a 700 atleast. I dont know what really went wrong during the entire verbal scoring a dismal score of 35. I think I have let you all down, I am Sorry. This score Sucks. Help me re-plan the strategy. thanks in advance
  7. Guys I dont know what happened Will post a briefing later, thanks Maku, Krrovidy, Erin 800 Bob. I am sorry I disappointed you all Oh sorry, its Q 47 and V 35
  8. first time he can ride any car so probability 1 second time he has to ride in any one of the remaining two cars so prob is 2/3 third time he has to ride in the one remaining car so prob is 1/3 hence prob = 1*(2/3)*(1/3) = 2/9
  9. Imo A. B and D have comparison problem...comparing legal limits on catching monkfish ...with cod or haddock... Because they are overfished is an incorrect construction in E. Usage of which is incorrect in C and D. The use of a circumstance is correct. Cod, haddock, monkfish are plural (esp. collectively), so usage of their in A referring to monkfish is correct
  10. POE leaves (A) and (B) C Coffee drinkers might choose to eat, along with their coffee, foods containing substances that harm the heart. -> goes beyond the Scope D Other beverages besides coffee might contain stimulants that have some effect on the heart. -> goes beyond the Scope E Drinking unusually large amounts of coffee could be caused by stress that itself directly harms the heart. => stress is the common cause of heart disease and drinking coffee. So Drinking coffee is not the cause of the problem and therefore should not hurt = > Supports the argument. A The review was only an evaluation of studies and did not itself undertake to study patients. -> Now nothing much is given about the studies themselves i.e. whether studies involved study of patients but this will point an issue at the efficacy of study . ASSUMING the underlying study is NOT a LIE then this doesnt help much B The health of the heart is not identical with the general health of the body. so in essence normal amounts of coffee may not hurt the heart but may be liver - will go with (B)
  11. I would go with B Here 'that' is referring to the elliptical path and not 'orbiting' In E there are two mistakes 'and that regularly brings it' - the usage of that with and is incorrect second using 'an elliptical path once a year' instead of 'once a year on an elliptical path' makes ..the 'that' refer to year instead of path which is nonsensical. But please I am a rookie, Post the OA Please
  12. 1. A". Using POE: D&E are naturally out "only one of eight" is not correct. "That remains" in C could be addressed to the "one" or "only eight". "one of eight of the only" is too wordy in B. 2. A says, "water and ... will be at the head of the legislature’s list of concerns for the coming session. 1st: logically, water cannot be at the head of the list of concerns 2nd: 'water' is not parallel with 'resource management problems.' Apples n oranges? C: Problems in the mgt of (X and Y)... will be at the head of the legislature’s list of concerns for the coming session... Hence C is CORRECT.
  13. C is correct becuase it is proposing a new penitentiaries system instead of the old penal system. The option D, instead says that penal system should be reformed as penitentiaries system, which in itself does not make any sense. You can change a system with another, how can you reform a system with another? Makes sense?
