hi jkim, how did you go through the CR section.i am not able to decrease my mistakes,generally i am able to solve 6-7 problems correctly out of 10 but i am not able to bring that score to 8 or 9 out of 10 .i face problelms while solving bold faced,questoins where a paralle scenario is asked and sometimes when you are asked to pick the desired question which would answer correctly to the argument

hi, i took the test in gmatPrep for the first time and scored 630(44Q,32V).i did some mistakes in CR and when i went on reveiwing my test,i found that i solved 12 qstns incorrectly..at one time in CR i got a bold faced qstn also and thought i was doing well on the test but whne i got the score i saw my verbal score drop..i didnt know why this happened

You're right that we need a finite verb in here to make the elements parallel, but it's not determined and differed that are parallel; it's was determined and differed (they are both verbs/verb phrases). in the above post erin has mentioned that was determined is a verb but as we know be verb+participle is used in pasive voice and ws determined is also modifying times....as a result determined should be a participle in above context....
