  1. In case anybody is still curious, I decided against this, though not because it isn't a good program. I spoke will several of the students, and most seemed happy with their decision to go there. A big percentage seem to go into finance (or at least did a few months ago....) - it really seems best suited to somebody who has little to no programming experience and looking for a career change, in my opinion, i guess I felt it might be a little too easy. Studied history and want to get a programming job? This is probably the right degree. It is also quite expensive, but for me the location would have been worth paying for. I actually ended up going to the University of Illinois for ECE, which is a bit of a different path. Thanks to those who gave their 2 cents. Jeremy
  2. would be especially interesting in hear from someone who has been in the program and is now working....
  3. Hi all, Brand new to the site and just found out today that I was admitted to MCIT also - its the only cs/it program I applied to since my undergrad background is in engineering science. I like in PA and have family in the area, so for me, its the only program I considered. I'm actually fairly pumped about the degree, aside from the cost. I keep hearing about bad ROI, but I have a job that pays decently, so the opportunity cost of not working for me makes paying extra (even 10k) for the right program seem well worth it, especially if you can finish in less time. Spoke to one grad student there, his feedback was very positive. Looking to change careers from EE to software engineering, and work somewhere very decent. Anyone have any thoughts on the program?
  4. Hi guys, Brand new to the site and just found out today that I was admitted to MCIT also - its the only cs/it program I applied to since my undergrad background is in engineering science. I like in PA and have family in the area, so for me, its the only program I considered. I'm actually fairly pumped about the degree, aside from the cost as was mentioned. I keep hearing about bad ROI, but have you guys considered the opportunity cost of not working? To me it makes paying extra (even 10k) for the right program seem well worth it, especially if you can finish in less time. I'm hoping to keep this thread going and see if you guys decided to attend? Spoke to one grad student there, his feedback was very positive.
