  4. Hello friends, As all pharmacists know that we are in EB3 category eventhough there is a huge shortage of pharmacists and now Pharm D. is required to get pharmcist license which is equivalent to Ph. D.(we have already proved that we are equivalent to pharmD by clearing FPGEE,TSE and TOEFL, 1500 hrs. internship,NAPLEX and MPJE) a fellow pharmacist wrote a letter to CIS Ombudsman and this was the reply he received from their office. I would request every pharmcist and prospective pharmacist on this forum to write a letter to them and request them to change us from EB3 to EB1 or EB2. It will be very helpful for our future and present pharmacists. This is the email address he wrote them to CISOmbudsman.Publicaffairs@dhs.gov This was the response i received from the Ombudsman office. Thank you for your recent correspondence to the Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman (CIS Ombudsman). I appreciate your suggestion regarding the EB category for pharmacists. We understand your concern with the shortage of pharmacists and nurses and are looking into this issue. Under the authority of the Homeland Security Act of 2002, the CIS Ombudsman assists individuals and employers who experience specific problems during the USCIS benefits seeking process, largely to identify problems and to formulate recommendations to improve the USCIS service. Please see our website for more information (www.dhs.gov/cisombudsman/). I believe that first hand information from individuals like you is the best source for identifying systemic problems in the immigration benefits process. My office will consider the information you provided as we develop recommendations to improve USCIS’ practices and procedures. Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact my office. Your contribution helps so much. Sincerely, CIS Ombudsman

  6. Thanks knok. Hello madaboutfpgee thank you too. Anyway, even I wrote an e-mail yesterday, these are the points that I've included. 1). First introduce yourself. 2). Tell them how long you have been working in the USA. 3). Write your firsthand information about pharmacist shortage and let them know how employers struggle to fill the positions. 4). Stress the point that we are equivalent to American Graduates, let them know that we have to pass FPGEE, TSE, TOEFL, minimum of 1500 hrs internship, NAPLEX and MPJE, tell them that it is almost 2 years. struggle.(stress the point that pharm D is equivalent to Phd.) 5). Finally request them that pharmacists should be consider in EB-2(based on shortage and equivalency factors) and ask them to look into the issue. Hope this info. will help you. -
