  1. My Friends, I find my self at crossroads right now. I had to do a second TOEFL (I scored 111 in the first) in order to reach a minimum speaking of 26 (with a total score of 108 for the second). Now, I find myself applying to a school that insists on a score of 109 minimum. Can I submit the scores for the first one I took? Or is it automatically voided when I took the second. I need all your help and advice. Thanks to all
  2. And if you have not gotten any reply? I wonder what that would mean?
  3. Wao! You are so lucky!!! 2 offers! But I would say go for the walmart offer! Its grad intern and they have a great culture (so my firend tells me) and if you don't need visa sposorship like the rest of us poor folks, you can always change your employer after certification as a pharmacist!!! Good luck to you and pray for the rest of us out there.
  4. I am frantically looking for a sponsor too people. Please Help!!!!!!
  5. Hi Pirimidin, I guess the best tip I can give you in pronunciation/intonation is any/a combination of the following: 1. Spending time with a native speaker 2. Listening to native speakers (American films, CNN etc). But in my experience, I would say nothing beats composure on the test day! Good luck
  6. Hi Pirimidin, In my first TOEFL, I got a score of 24 in speaking (I just got my target score of 26 with the March 27 result). The first session of speaking about personal experience was my worst because, I had the problem of choosing from competing events in my life during the test (and I was not smart enough to make up one!). Thus, the coherence and flow of my speech was affected. And all this was a result of not preparing for the test at all. For the second and successful TOEFL, I had to take a day off work to do speech practice. That gave me more confidence. But I think the trick is (in addition to all the useful tips on this forum), giving examples and a supporting sentence (or 2 if the sentences are short). You may stutter or pause a lot ( and I did), but I think in the end what aces it is the flow of your speech!! I hope this helps you. Good luck
  7. Reading:28, Listening:26, Speaking:26, Writing:28!!!!!! My advice to anyone: Just compose yourself in the speaking part and don't rush things!!! For the writing part, organization is key. And for the reading part, sometimes, you don't have to finish reading a passage before attempting the questions!! And in Listening, well, just listen hard!! Good luck to all!!!
  8. By the way Alnik, have you gotten an intern position yet(I could not resist asking)? Maybe you could give the rest of us poor souls some constructive advice? Perhaps?
  9. I admire your temerity AlNik, but I would seriously advise you to refrain from posting disdainful rubbish here. The good people who use this forum, believe me, could do with less or none of your condescending nonsense. Give up the facts as it were, without any of your garrulous opinons.
  10. thanks Anacleto85. I am registering for another one right away. You've answered my questions speedily in the past, are you all hooked up in an internship position now? I hope you are not in the H1 debacle like I will be soon. Good luck!!!
  11. I just got my Toefl scores. Reading 30, Listening 28, Writing 28, Speaking 24. Should I ask for a re-score of my speaking? This is soooo terrible. Can someone let me know the procedure for re-scoring? Thank you
  12. Hi, I took the June exam and I passed with a score of 114. If I remember correctly (correct me guys), we only had about 3 calculation questions in all and none was from Kinetics. But that is not necessarily the blue print of the exams. In the past, the FPGEE has been known to be fraught with lots of calculation questions (according to the test takers in the past). Go through the usual topics that come with calculations in an ordinary pharmacy curriculum to make sure you are adequately prepared!!! So apart from statistics and kinetics, know all your usual compounding calculations like milliequivalence, dilution and concentration etc. Good luck!!
  13. Gosh!!! You are good, really good. I wish I didn't have to study before I passed mine. Good Luck to all!!!
  14. You would be wasting your time trying!!!! Spend your time knowing how they work, the peculiarities of each group etc!!! Moreover, once you go through it, revision is decidedly easier.
